well i installed mine today but i couldnt do any logs yet becuase i had my rugrats with me and well i'm not doing pulls in my car with them in it lol.

i figure by sometime in the next coming weeks i'll be able to do some good pulls with the cop installed and with the stock coils installed. i would love to see the comparison. now should i go with a .028 or .030 gap on my IX iridium plugs with ~25psi?

Once I get up some more stock on the coil connectors I'm probably going to offer this. I must warn you though, if I do offer it, it will be a full DIY. Not a bolt on affair.

AKA: Cut the plate, wire and crimp the harness yourself.

And I need 2 .

Good news is we borrowed a customers spoolinup cop setup so we could dyno our race car. We were able to make 581 whp on a mustang dyno with 29psi on e85 before our fuel supply was limited. (prototype intake Double pumper we made). Our plug gap was around .025. No breakup whatsoever!

What are the downsides of running this underneath the spark plug cover besides heat exposure?

Drove for a week with the COP kit, here are my impression.
Gas mileage did improved, but I didn't notice big difference in idle quality, I'd say maybe just a little, I have evo8 with cams. I increased my plug gap to .030 and no miss fire, I am gonna try .032 next. The plugs have more than 6000 miles using NGK BPR7ES.

Driving wise, the car seems to pull harder in all rpm range even better on highway.

Thats about it. Considering they're OEM Toyota coils I'm sure they can handle the extra heat from a spark plug cover with no problem. If I ever buy a set I'll be running them under a spark plug cover.
