Spark Tech Non-CDI COP review.
My car is a 06RS with approximately 26,000 miles on the clock with the original plugs and just a 9sec9 tune. It has had an intermittent miss at idle and at part throttle cruise since it was new. Not a big deal, but annoying at times. I was told to close the gap of the plugs and it would go away. Well I can tell you for a fact that’s not the proper way to address an ignition issue, it’s just a band aid for an insufficient ignition system. With other component upgrades planned for later this year I wanted to address this issue before moving on.
I installed the Spark Tech Non-CDI COP this past weekend and had a set of new plugs standing by just in case the miss was still there. I was going to install the plugs and Non-CDI COP together, but at the last minute decided to give the Spark Tech unit a try alone to see if it would clean up the issue. Well I can tell you the intermittent miss at idle and part throttle cruise is gone. Four separate Sunday errand trips around town and on the highway confirmed what others have already posted, this system works.
Thanks Craig and company for a product that is easy to install , works as advertised, and cured my ignition issues. With that said I am looking forward to some logging time and a 9sec9 retune later this week to fully optimize the addition of this component. Thanks, Indy

I'm actually having the same issue at low rpm, especially in first gear. i've regapped the spark plugs and only relieved the symptoms slightly.
I may have to invest in the Non-CDI COP.

^ Hmm, Nice review.
I now have a SUN Auto earthing kit and voltage stabiliser. I might also start to look into a Non-CDi COP system for that perfect ignition..
Hopfully it will smooth out my Idle with my cams..

is there any particular reason you chose the NON-CDI instead of the CDI?

For my application a CDI COP is overkill. For others it might be a necessity. I wanted a coil replacement system and this one is the best option period. All of Spark Tech’s products are high quality, and I was really temped to go with the CDI COP route, but in the end for a real every day driver the Non CDI COP was the best choice for my build.

This system (judging by some of the pics on their site) allows the use of the spark plug cover. Correct?

Correct factory spark plug cover fits and we also have a Billet cover being made with an Anodized or Wrinkle Black powder coated coating. This should be available soon.

yeah i am also getting this setup!! cant wait to install it!!! and yeah the noncdi is a good setup for 500 to 600 where the cdi is good to 1000+ which i know i will never touch
