Mellon, I can't quite tell from your post if you're happy with the new hta86 or not....you mention the slower spool like it is a big drawback, but yet peak power seems to be up? idk
Either way, shame on you for not using a GM BCS yet to control boost. You're running so much power on the stock ECU and yet you still use a stupid EBC! Look how your boost plot continues to rise through a pull! With ECU controlled boost making that line flat as a pancake would be no problem, and you'd even be able to dial in error correction if you wanted to.

the HTA35R .63 is more fun for daily driving with the slightly better transient boost response...however, I have a personal goal to run 9's and wanted a little "bigger" turbo and don't mind a little trade off. The HTA86 .82 is almost as good for daily driving, but the pump gas gains are minimal. I suspect the HTA86 will outshine the previous setup by a fair amount with race gas and 40psi + which is where I'll be at the track next time.
I like to keep my boost control simple. Some people see the slight boost increase towards redline as a problem, I see it as an advantage

I guess we have different definitions of simple then, because a whole extra control box and wiring harness running into the engine bay from the cabin to me is the definition of overly complex
And yea, but you could do that with a gm bcs as well (your curve). Hell, you could dial in whatever curve you wanted, even raise boost in certain spots just for kicks.
Turn correction factors down to zero and just set BWGDC to make whatever boost curve you want, it could be W shaped if you wanted it to!

that's far too tedious for me, I don't want to have to bring a laptop just to adjust boost.

That's his EBC, kinda why I asked about switching to ecu-controlled boost to begin with.
Side note: Mellon, you know I'm not hatin, right?! Do what you want, it's your car man!

I know, but you're not going to change my mind either. Another reason I like the greddy is that I set it to wastegate boost when I launch, then I flip a switch and have full boost as I shift into second. It's very helpful especially for the street where traction is very limited.

You know tephra v6 is gonna have gear-dependent boost tables? This would mean no more switch flipping for you!
