no, I didn't like the tephra NLTS...just doing it the old school way manually.

thanks kyle.
I called FP yesterday about the turbo status and didn't get good news. I was told originally that it was going to be shipping last wednesday oct 22nd and now I'm being told none have shipped and they are waiting on parts to build it which might arrive this week and ship out next week...ugh I've got a buyer for my turbo but he's not going to like this.

Can't you sell your turbo and just park the evo for a bit. Drive the stealth some, that car is also bad ass!

the stealth is in the shop again, the damn thing dropped a valve is suspect a few months ago so I'm tearing it back down, zero compression on #6 I'll get the head off soon and figure out the extent of the damage. The crappy part is that's a brand new shortblock with race head and cams. The car runs pretty good WHEN it runs, traps 127mph in the 1/4 on 93 octane @ 27psi peak, not bad for a car that weighs 3775lbs with me in it lifting to shift.

Good luck with that. Whats not to like about it? Its the exact same thing you're doing the 'old school' way but safer. Not trying to sway your vote, just not understanding why you wouldn't want a feature intended to help with what you are doing. I certainly wouldn't want to be bouncing off of a 9500rpm rev limiter with my very expensive engine if I had something that prevents that.

Wow sorry to hear that, man that car was a great accomplishment, I hope there is no serious damage 127mph is moving at 3775lbs. Damn to bad you don't have another vehicle, but two super cars is serious $$$. Well keep up the good work man and hope it all works out!

I didn't like the way it kills the power when you shift...it made me shift slower than ever. I'd get it back into gear and wait for the power to return...that's poo. I didn't mess with the timer to improve that and for some reason I was missing gears like nuts and grinding them. I decided it wasn't worth ruining a transmission to fool with it any longer. So I went back to good ole lift to shift until a few weeks ago.
true the rpm zings up when you powershift manually but that also helps the torque when you're going into the next gear, really makes the car jump and go.

Fair enough. One thing I didn't like about the old school method is between shifts you go all over the place in the rpm/load cells so its constantly searching for the correct timing in the map. With the NLTS its extremely consistent every time so I can adjust my map accordingly to eliminate the annoying shift knock spikes. I never get shift knock with the NLTS once I adjust for it but witht he old school manual method there was no telling how I reacted at every shift so there wasn't enough consistency for me. Seems that you don't have any shift knock issues so I guess you are all set there.

shift knock is all in the tune so yeah that was only a problem for me when I first discovered it with my evo a very long time ago. It took me a bit but once I realized what was causing it that's never been a problem again. I call my current tune my drag map, it's optimized for consistent timing/fuel on shifts. I use it for daily driving too though because I'm not your average daily driver, I tend to go through the gears here and there.

i have the tephra NLTS mod on my car, but i prefer to do it the old fashioned way and not use it. i think it works a lot better without it
