CBRD dynotest, perrin new intake!!

Well, we use quite a few parts from perrin on subarus, mainly inlet pipes, intakes, fmic's, ebcs' etc...

Jeff and I spoke regarding his new intake for the evo 8/9 and they sent us one to test. My original plan was to bolt it on a BONE STOCK evo 8/9 after getting baselines with the stock intake.

well, we had caleb's car (our sales director) sitting outside, so i had him pull it on the dyno for some pulls. It was using a MAF adapter plate with a kn universal filter, the largest we could fit with the ACD resevoir.

This car has the following mods:

CBRD BBK compressor upgrade
Buschur Racing Race FMIC
modded walbro pump
dc sports downpipe
cobb turboback
stock cams, stock injectors...

please note that we were out of injector on this car before up top.... 100% IDC with our upgraded compressor wheel.... so youll notice the lean afr's up top.

baseline pulls, (average of the 3) was 324/300 (ish)...

we then added the intake...

and the first pull 355/309.... i was shocked.... never expecting any gain like that. by the third pull, it was 349/308... very consistent.

note that the boost rose 1/2 psi... and afr's leaned out about 2 tenths of a point...

very impressive....

here is the chart..

so, let me know ur thoughts, i am really liking the intake.....

im going to try to test it thursday or friday on a COMPLETELY stock evo ix MR we have.

cheers

cb

Were you using the original plastic intake pipe with that K&N?

Funny Jrod!

Hey Chad, I'm running the Synapse Synchronic BOV, do you see any problems with this setup as far as clearance issues? Currently I'm running the Buschur Intake and it seems to work great with the synapse on the UICP and the factory hose from the end of the BOV to the intake. I noticed that this one looks like it would be setup for a stock or stock like BOV to press into it. Is that the case? Would like to see some pics of your setup.

Josh

Looks really nice but have a few questions...

Would bolting this on without a tune cause any problems with stock turbo and bolts on? I'm trying to hold off on getting a tune until I get my cams.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it was proven that it was hard to get better gains over the stock accordian tube?

Also how is the filter material for filtering?
