As for the power... impressive

+1 you should also change the filter to a K/n and see if it gains anything.. That filter doesnt look like it would filter much.

Drives: a laptop connected to your ECU.

Boost raised and AFR was leaner. Not a surprise it gained power.

So what happens if you keep the same boost and AFR?

we have used many perrins on subarus for the past 4 years, and they hold up great...

im hoping to retune with the intake as bryan asked (razorlab) to bring the boost back .5psi or so, ,which will bring the afr's down a bit also, being a better intake to intake test.

the purpose of this was just to bolt it on, and measure the changes..

I know this is for the perrin intake, but I keep focusing on the bbk compressor upgrade haha. Was the stock intake pipe used? Where would the idc be with meth?

I'm looking at the perin website, and I know they make great products because I have perrin stuff and the welds are awesome and quality is top notch.

HOWEVER:
I'm looking at this intake and I don't believe the hype. The pipe section looks very similiar to the HKS RS as well as the Cusco and i'm sure some others as well. I very much doubt that the filter is causing a 20 HP increase if the piping is similiar to all the other intakes with a 5 whp increase.

we have never had good luck with the hks intake.... this one we like, and will be doing more testing...

ive always felt that the corrugated inlet pipe wasnt as good as a smooth one... obviously......

^^ i'd like nothing better than an intake that adds 25 whp just from bolting it in. But thats more than what some people get with cams and entire turbobacks.

Just to clarify, Did you guys raise the boost and lean the car out or did simply bolting the intake in change boost and AFR

we did nothing but bolt it on... the lesser restriction allowed it to make more boost, and obviously leaned it out accordingly...

i will be using more of these...

^^ thanks for the response, if these results are continually replicated, I'd gladly eat my skepticism and buy an intake

This is surprising. I'm interested to see the results from the stock-stock+intake comparison.
