I've been running that intake for quite some time now and its great. Never been dynoed, but I have a tune and my A/F is always right on the money. I love Perrin parts which I try to buy whenever possible.

i have it as well. great part, and awesome quality. but its time for a new filter. Does perrin recommend using regular filter cleaner to clean it or just replacing the foam filter all together?

Hi,

We recommend cleaning it unless it has physical damage or a hole in it.

We do sell a cleaning kit, click here to see it.

Thanks guys.

Well I don't agree with you. I was told the same thing about the stock air box. Well I got tuned with a Drop-In (K&N), and a TBE, FMIC,LICP,MBC. I made 323whp and was told by Sean Ivey to swap to a cone style filter by XXXX company and I did. Went back to his shop a couple of weeks later and yes the temps were within a few degrees of each other. I made 360whp without changing a thing. I was ever soooooo slightly lean in some spots so the tune was tweaked a little.

Obviously I wont state the other company because that's not the point of my post and it wouldn't be fair to PERRIN. All I have to say is IT'S NOT HYPE!!!!

If you read what i said import junky you can see i stated that stock air box has shown in the past good for 400+hp that doesnt mean basic bolt ons you will get that. You have to have a crap load of mods to get that out a stock evo 8 maybe even a bolt on turbo. The topic of the stock air box has been beaten to death and covered many times.

My point :

Put this intake on a 100% stock car and see what the gains are then.

Okay, okay....I get it now. Maybe I jumped the gun a little. I can see how all of my supporting mods would have helped the intake gain it's full potential. You just didn't want anyone to think you could slap it on a stock Evo and make that kind of horsepower. So now I will apologize for my hair trigger...haha. Cheers.

Interesting results, although you really should be measuring AFRs before the cat.

How does the noise level compare between the two intake set-ups?

Can you do a similar comparison between the stock air filter and your drop in foam filter?

People need to stop saying the stock airbox is good for 400+ hp. When you hit 400hp, does it suddenly blow up or something? The fact is, the stock box is a restriction, even on a stock even. Do I believe you're going to gain 30whp on a stock evo? Hell no, but quit saying this nonsense.
