I am back in the land of the living... in my new house (with a garage), however had a motorcycle accident (not major), and dealing with my claims. I have changed another alternator and found out that it can be done in an hour with a little manipulation (2 hours for a first timer) and that you don't have to jack the engine up at all...

remove your negative from battery, discharge system with your headlights on
Remove you strut brace (6 nuts, 2 bolts)
unbolt your fuel rail and shove it to the side (2 bolts, remove 1 vacuum line)
Remove sensor on side of intake manifold (2 bolts, 1 vacuum line)
unbolt AC support near strut tower
unbolt your dip-stick guide and push to the side (1 bolt)
Jack the car up
remove your accessory belt (remove tension with a 1/2" breaker bar, then slide belt off)
Lower car down.
remove charging wire (one nut)
remove alternator harness connection
remove top alternator bolt
remove lower alternator bolt and nut
Bring alternator up through the top... it WILL go, but you have to slide and twist it out.
Installation is reverse of removal.
All you will need are upgraded power cables, a 6 rib 69.5" long belt, and the alternator and tools
