Drives: '96 2G AWD

Post FS: 2004 Apex Silver VIII [IL]

Model: 2004 Apex Silver VIII
Miles: 67958
VIN: JA3AH86DX4U062086
Location: Plainfield, IL
Price: $19.5k, negotiable.

Mods:
Buschur intake
GM boost solenoid
IX MR BOV
AMS turboback with testpipe
Walbro 255
FIC 950cc
Zeitronix ZT2 wideband
Short shifter (unknown brand)

Wear items:
RacingBrake ET500 pads, <1,000 miles
Rotorpro slotted rotors, <1,000 miles
Toyo Proxes4 tires with ~6,000 miles on them.

About the car: It is currently tuned for E85, and all tuning has been done by me. I've been running E85 in it since July 2007 and have receipts going back to January of this year for fuel purchases.

It got regular plug, oil, and fluid changes and was washed, clayed, and waxed regularly as well. Fluids used are Valvoline VR1 20w50 engine oil in warm weather (Mobil 1 10w30 in cold), DiaQueen transmission and DiaQueen transfer case fluid, Heavyweight Shockproof in the rear diff. Mobil 1 oil filters were used.

I have never taken the car to the track, either drag or road race. Boost is set to spike to 25psi but then come down to and hold 22-23 to redline.

Reason for selling: I work from home and am moving to Chicago, so I don't really need a car, let alone two.

Problems: There is a chip in the windshield (pictured). The chip is just behind and below the mirror. It happened September 2007 and hasn't spread any, and I have no reason to expect it to.

The wing is also peeling in multiple spots (pictured), and has a blemish from when the prior owner dropped it on the ground.

The clutch in it is old, but does not slip under anything but a launch condition. I have only ever soft-launched it once, and on finding the clutch slipped, never launched it again.

There are the typical hard-to-picture hood chips.

The paint on the grilles is chipping away.

Other notes: The car does not currently run an undertray, but I have it available. Because of the AMS exhaust one of the under brace bars is removed, but I have that as well.

Contact info: Please give me a call at 815-557-1369 or send an e-mail to krishicks@gmail.com if you're interested.

I have been paid a handsome sum to affirm the coolness of this car.

Seriously, I'll cheerfully vouch for both Kris as a seller, and the condition of this car. He's taken care of it meticulously, the modifications made have been cleanly installed and maintained, and if you've ever thought about converting to E-85, this car is a poster child for what's possible in a daily driver.

I'll also vouch for the fact that he hasn't taken it to a track except to park in the parking lot (a fact that I've given him a pretty hard time about over the last few years; I still can't understand how you can own one of these cars and not flog them at a road course, at the very least ).

So, somebody give this car a good home.

Good buy

Very clean car, runs solid. A very good/safe E85 tune. Still amazed at the power it's making for the little that it's got. I don't believe Kris has ever tracked raced the car, and I never once saw him abuse the car. Someone is going to score with this deal. Hope it makes it's way to a good home.

Very clean car and quick.. Only if I had more money I'd buy it as a daily. Great buy.

I wish more people would post *honest* for sale ads like this. Looks like the OP did a nice job of explaining the common issues and little things to go along with the good highlights of the vehicle. When you see a post with nothing but "this is a great car nothing wrong" you know their is something wrong and the seller is just hiding it. Every car has a small issue. Good luck on the sale.

I believe the car is still available - but Kris is up in India on a work assignment. Hopefully he's checking the web from there. Believe it's only for two or three months.
