Lightbulb 2003 Lightning Yellow Evo 8 - Fully Built AMS 2.0L Engine - Jacksonville Florida

The time has come for me to move on. I hate to do this but I recently got married and I am saving to buy a house so I have to let this go! I do hope to come back in the not too distant future with another Evo, probably a 2nd or 3rd year Evo 10.

The engine, transmission, and clutch have approx 1,400 miles on them, and the built transfer case has about 300 miles. The car has seen no more than 17lbs of boost since the rebuild and needs detailed tuned but is fully drivable as I have driven it to and from work to break it in. The AMS engine break in is 1500 miles so it’s still just under it with a little over 1400 miles on the rebuild. I have a ton of paperwork for virtually everything on this car, even each time I bought a replacement plastic clip or tab, it got a bit out of hand

I just had brand new 245/45/17 Sumitomo HTR Z-III’s with a complete alignment (less than 600 miles ago) done to the car. The windshield was just replaced by Safe Lite Auto Glass as well.

The interior is very clean and never smoked in as I am a non smoker. The body has 81,900 miles on it but is in very good shape as I have taken great care of the car. I know the miles are a little high but I live in the country, and my daily commute to and from work totals 52 miles. 95% of the miles on this car are all highway miles, what can I say I loved to drive it!

The following are new OEM parts that were installed with the new AMS longblock for preventative measures:

Knock sensor, Oil pressure sensor, IAC motor, TPS sensor, Tie rod ends, Throw out bearing, Thermostat, and of course all new gaskets.

Things to note, the carbon fiber on the spoiler needs re-clear coated which typically costs $100 at any body shop. This is a common problem with the factory clear coat on the carbon fiber because apparently there is no UV protection mixed into the clear coat. Next the transmission has a slight grind going into 5th that has literally just developed when I took the car to fill it up with gas. I can contact Shepherd Transmission to see what can be done since it’s a fresh rebuild. Having dealt with John Shepherd in the past it will probably be a completely free repair or at a very reasonable price and I will try to work with the next owner and Shepherd Transmissions in getting it resolved. I haven’t had the time to troubleshoot this, it may be something simple. I have put about 7 miles on this car in 2.5 months, I simply do not drive it anymore.

I have most of the stock parts for the car, and a set of 18” Volk GT-U gunmetal grey rims that need a little cleaning since Brembo’s create so much brake dust, but are otherwise in good shape. I haven’t thought about a price for them… and would accept a reasonable offer if interested.

I also have 2 sets of Precision 1000cc injectors that I bought when I was looking to go with the twin fuel rail AMS VSR intake manifold. I ended up getting FIC 1150cc instead on a single rail. One set I used for a couple thousand miles, the other I got off of someone else and never used them, but I was told they have a few hundred or so miles on them, that person went with bigger injectors. If interested make a reasonable offer for them.

Current and recommended fluids by AMS and Shepherd Racing:

Engine – AMSoil 20w50 FULL Synthetic
Transmission – Redline Lightweight Shockproof (Blue Colored)
Transfer Case – Redline Heavy-duty Shockproof (Pink Colored)

Sorry, no. Only reason for the sell of this car is to open some funds for a house purchase.

Drives: Pump Gas Wonder here scooby scooby

Bump for Itzwolf here on this... its sad to see this going but he is trying to move forward on a house purchase.
As far as in regards to the car... pure TLC and went into that engine and I can vouch for his skill as work on both the car and the tune! He tuned my car and the numbers for it speak for itself! 475/415 on just pump @ 23psi!

This car has all the potential for both easy Daily driving as well as being a monster at the track people! And if you wonder about the owner... perfectionist is putting it MILDLY! This man takes such good care of this car you would have thought it was an offspring of his! It got regular baths, regular oil changes to every 3000 miles, god knows how many hours logging and tuning into it and even the smallest imperfection was dealt with IMMEDIATELY.
Bump not just for one hell of a deal but also for the closest person to a brother I can get <--- should be a Corona

Extra pics of the car from back in the day:

When he had Volks on it

Thanks for the kind words Jon, it means a lot!

You need to get your car back on that dyno and get them numbers for 28lbs of boost on pump gas

BTW thanks for the additional pictures, the reflection through your car is sick!

Friday Bump
This is the cleanest Lightning Yellow Evo in Jacksonville FL. Itzwolf keeps it clean and clay barred. I personally saw the intake get polished like three times before the motor was finished with the install. The guy really cares about the car, kinda wish he was keeping it since he sold me on the Evo. Sorry to see it leave the family but he will be back.

Monday morning bump!

A friend of mine wanted to get some photos of Evo's this past weekend so I gave the car a good bath and decided to do some additional tuning. Turned the boost up to 23lbs and the highest knock volt shown in AEM EMS was 2.1V (and I do have then AEM log to show it). Car feels very strong and smooth. Put about 100 miles on the car over the weekend, got to love living in the country. I can't believe I am selling it!

Thanks for the pictures Jon, not to bad for an iPhone I suppose. Kirby should post his high quality versions. Sucks the other people bailed out on him.

You know what goes around comes around... I am sure I can dig up something good to get you back! Amber has gotten some choice shots of you...
