she liiiiiiiiiiives
i flushed the oil in the morning, and as soon as i connected the battery the alarm system chirped, which made me hopeful that the battery was still good - and it was. started up with absolutely no problems. drove her straight to a local shop i trust and they used some pressure machine they had to totally flush the coolant. said the coolant going out looked good, which is a relief.

lol you are correct. getting ready to start up the tune again. having an issue with the hybrid boost set up though - not holding boost, it's almost like it's bouncing off of a rev limiter. i may have set the mbc too low though, i'll try again at a higher boost level

Current To Do:
- Fix hybrid boost, retune
- ACD ECU tune
- Remove dynamat (previous previous owner)
- 2Din Android system (waiting for the market)
- Send our rear diff for cover replacement & adjustment
- binary engineering seat brackets
- corner balance
- catch can
- Swift springs for coilovers 10k and 12k
- baffled oil pan

well
the rear diff is leaking, presumably from the fill bolt. not a significant amount, and it doesnt do it from normal driving - looks like just after i did the power pulls for the data logging. i think i'll wrap up the tune, possibly get an event in, and ship off the rear diff to be replaced

let me clarify lol - the fill bolt threads are stripped, so yea the rear diff case will be replaced by TRE. it's a special one with all his trimmings + the rear diff fluid sight glass. and thank god for that, i can keep an eye on where the rear diff fluid is

Drivers seat already has the binary brackets

First AutoX in the New Evo! 08172014
First time autoxing this evo ever! the biggest difference between this evo and my old one is that my old one had about 100-150 more hp and had a relatively soft spring/strut set up. Current evo has ~300hp on the current tune and ohlins 8k/10k.
Man is this a different experience than the Mini. I've forgotten what real power feels like, and especially for the test n tune course I was at on Sunday, there was a lot of, as soon as I get in the power I need to get on the brakes. It may have less power than my old evo, but it feels SO fast lol. Handling felt okay, I think it definitely needs to be corner balanced and I should probably mess with the dampers to get it to a happy place. It's hard to get a good read from the event though, as it was cold and wet in the morning. Car overall handled okay, I think the handling balance is good and it oversteers on power as I expected. I ran a 37.4 on the course with the Evo, and a 38.6 with the Mini. Evo had a lot going against it though:
- Haven’t autoxed an Evo in 1.5 years, and have never autoxed this Evo, which has a completely different setup
- Evo was driven in the morning in the wet & cold, on 3yr old heat-loving RS3s which are at the end of its life
- Being a T&T course, not a lot of straight/fast bits compared to a normal autox event
- Didn’t launch the Evo, couldn’t line it up at the start as well as I did the Mini
- Afternoon runs in the dry were about 1s faster than the morning runs
In general though, I'm pretty happy with it, especially for my first time autoxing the car. I will definitely be bringing it out to more events.
PS: I know it's not good driving - the corners came up so much faster than they did in the Mini lol. It's definitely going to take some adjustment, getting used to the car in general, etc. Mini run below for comparison as well
