I have seen a "STRONG" honda presence on this island.
Alot of Impreza 2.5 RS's, one STI that had plenty of cajones (its boxer sounded like Felix Trinidad)
No Evo's. None. I wish I had my car out here ( nicest highways/twisty mountain roads @ sealevel FTW)

Great island! Was there back in September of '04 I think. A friend of a friend owns 1/5th of Kauai as well as the island of Ni'ihau and I got to go hunting on the forbidden island. Kauai is beautiful though. I really enjoyed the week I was there and our friend showed us around just about the whole island.
If you haven't done so, take a helicopter tour of the island with Inter- island Choppers (I think that's what they are called). They use 'Nam era Hueys with no doors and they have great pilots.

Boose Cruise
Huey lewis and the News FTW!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like something I would love.
Took a whirly-bird ride through the Royal Gorge, It made me smear my draws.
Inter Isl. Choppers it is. Thanx.
Well I broke my cameras viewing screen (wife's pissed, 3 months old) and I got sea sick. All in All it wasn't that enjoyable. Jurassic Park was filmed here, Kehck Telliscope is Awe-some, yard bird everywhere, U.S. Pacific Missle Range is pretty impressive.

Aside from the coffee, the chickens were my favorite thing about Kauai.

These are old pics (late '04) but since we're on the subject I'll post them.
We went for a wedding on a weekend, but spent most of the following week seeing Kauai with our own personal tour guide (who owns part of Kauai and owns Ni'ihau). He hooked us up with Inter-Island Helicopters and we saw the island (including the waterfalls & Napali Coast) in an old Huey:
Mid-week we went to Ni-ihau to go hunting for polynesian boar. We went to the "Forbidden Island" on their WWII tank transport (landing craft) which was a very slow but nice ride:
I got two of the boar, which the villagers kept, and due to miscommunication a trophy sized one got away from us. We spend most of the rest of the day tracking that sucker and we could get within sight of him on occasion but he was a quick one. I only took a few pics when we were on Ni'ihau:
I got really sick on the ride back though. The tide was crazy at night, and the craft would lift upwards in the front, hang for a sec, then slam down into the water. It did that nearly the entire 3 hours it took to get between islands on that slow craft. I'm sure the diesel fumes didn't help either. It's a wonder I didn't fall overboard while I was puking LOL.
Thursday night I ended up getting locked inside a bar (which is what they do to prevent drunks from wandering out when the power goes out) for awhile and ended up talking to a cool tattoo artist named "Moon". He ended up doing my ink that Friday, a polynesian petroglyph of a hunter carrying a hockey stick:
That's pretty much my trip! Oh, and chickens.

Just got back from a honeymoon on Kauai. Here are a few shots from the raft trip over to Na Pali. While on that side of the island we went up to The Canyon.
