Cool upgrade , I like mine . Yeah I thought it was high to but it the other guys insurance that's paying for the repairs , dealership quoted it at 750. So we will let them figure it out as long as they fix it and the paint matches I don't care what it costs .

Between $1,175 and $750 there's still a massive amount of "padding" in the quotes, considering a pint of PPG color-match paint will run about 35-57 bucks (depending on where you get it) and about two hours of prep&paint at ~$125/hr.

I'd say tell their insurance it's $1,1175 (per whoever it was that quoted this) and have insurance cut you a check to YOUR name and do the work yourself.

Id love to but the wife took care of it , direction of payment paper work is already signed so its out of my hands . Besides it still not sure if the split can be fixed , dealer said they will try repairing it but may have to replace .Also if the dealer fixes it they cant say anything at the time of turn in , playing it safe with these 2

If you're taking it to the dealership, then I guess it'll all be taken care of.
I'm sure the dealer will want to replace it, since there's more profit in "billing" the insurance on a new part then to try and nickle & dime them with a jalopy repair. Especially on such a brand new vehicle with less than 1,000 miles on ODO.

The dealer would be shooting themselves in the foot if they take a lease back with a "patch up job"...

naw, i couldnt see myself spending 50+ on an emblem. i found the asx logo online and used a plotter to cut it, certain parts of the world, the asx is huge like this one, the one you have is small. so im not sure what size is right.

this one shows the emblem being 5 inches in length

it wont let me right click to save picture

They can charge full MSRP to their insurance, so of course they "couldn't repair** the original".

** That small scratch was so hideously damaged - it was beyond the skills of their bodyshop techs to PDR, which then leads to them to totaled the entire front-end.

Are they going to reuse the chrome bezel and the foglamp covers? Or, they going to order you new ones of those too??
