43. ASX Rear Lip

Here is the other half of the lip kit I purchased overseas. I saw a lot of options but ultimately decided on this one as it seemed to flow with the factory body lines the best. It was also the most well constructed without having to modify or drill into the factory bumper. I also liked the fact that I haven't seen anyone with this particular kit before.

And installed:

The construction is ABS plastic. I'm very satisfied with the fitment, almost 99.9% without any modification is hard to come by these days.

44. Exhaust Finisher

To match with the new rear lip and the chrome strip running across, the exhaust tip needed some work. A new exhaust is definitely not going to happen on this vehicle meant to be the family daily, so I had to settle with just a finisher on the tip. This one matched what I was looking for quite well. The oval opening fills up the exhaust cutout, the chrome works well with the rear lip, and the round fitting was just the right size for the factory tip.

Here is what we were dealing with before:

Will you look at that! I mean, can you even? Because I can't!

I also like the slight extension.

And that completes the rear end for now!

Looks great! I'm going to color key(body color match) the reflectors off mine because I just can't stand how it just sits there. I'm glad I'm also not the only one who plans on doing an exhaust tip. I can't imagine how much that HKS exhaust cost, nor will I ever buy anything HKS. I haven't measured the diameter of the exhaust pipe, but that is down the list to fill. Love how yours is coming along!

45. Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

I've been hoarding this piece for a couple months and finally decided to put it on today. It's a mold of the existing engine cover and redone in CF. I thought I would take the opportunity to change the Mitsu logo with some vinyl first. Wasn't really sure what to expect but here it is:

I'm sure I'm not going to be the first to ask, but WHERE DID YOU GET THAT COVER???? I was going to actually paint match it to Laguna Blue to the have a nice touch under the hood. It looks awesome! Hopefully the quality is resilient to heat otherwise, wrapping it with carbon may be the next option.

I picked it up in China, but it was still pretty pricey for what it is. I was afraid to install it over the winter which is why I waited. I'll keep an eye on it over the next couple months to see how it holds up to the temperature fluctuations.

Along with that carbon fiber snorkel I saw the other day, this would really dress up our engine bay.

The only places I saw the cover was the chinese site Alibaba >

However, there are minimum orders of 5 pieces

I know, I know, trust me, it was tough for me to wait until now as well.

Min order 5 isn't bad. I'm sure we could easily organize more than that on here to go through with it. I'll keep everyone posted on the quality throughout the summer.

46. Rear Park Light Trim

I was really on the fence about whether to install these after the LED park lights. There might have been too much chrome. Then I noticed the new RDX also has a trim around their park lights so I figured I'd give it a shot anyways. It doesn't affect the light output with the trim on, although there might be a slight reflection of to the sides which isn't a bad thing. Overall, I think it continues the chrome touch to the rear quite well with the rear lip and exhaust tip. I'll let it stay for now!
