BTAPPER YOU ARE KILLING ME, you think the SeR is ugly and the new SI is good ARGH!?! And no its not a the best engine but it still out performs the SI when it comes to Civic or Sentra I would take the Sentra, but I guess you are entitled to your opinion

Guys, I hope you can keep this discussion as civil/logic/objective as possible. You're free to express you opinion, however, I would not like to see flaming on other members.
I do not have the chance to test drive a new Civic just yet, so I can't express my throught on this topic; however, please be rational on your discussion. Until then, everything is just PERSONAL OPINION...
chill, guys

PERSONAL OPINION and personal preference is correct. Of course Mitsubishi owners are going to flame whatever cars they can pick on for Hondas, etc. or whatever they don't own and I'm sure muscle heads like to flame the rest of us. It's an endless battle on what's better and what's not. So what's the use with all the fuss?

As for this question, I'll let out my PERSONAL OPINION not meaning to flame anyone... I would rather test drive the new SI way b4 even considering getting into a lancer. I have friends who own VW Corrados, Nissan Maximas/Sentras, Mitsubishi Eclipses, etc. most who all think of the u.s. spec lancer as a "fake" representation of the Evo. Heck they even hate civics for the same reason that people "rice" it out etc., etc.
It all comes down to what you have and what you don't to chose sides and to say one thing is better than the other.

Civics are not bad cars at all..but you can't put it in the same categpry with a s-er and gti imho....the focus I'm not a fan of.
I'd take a gti and old se-r(hell I'd even take a new one) or a civic hatch and hook them up before I wasted my money on that new si.
I say waste cause i p[ut money into cars and I'd rather have something worth spending on.
