Drives: Evo X GSR,08 GTS (for sale), and a K20 again.

So Discount Tire Broke My Wheel Lock..what should i do?

so yeah i got some new wheels and tires for the X last week..installed them..the new wheels wouldnt fit the OEM lug nuts so i got some aftermarket ones from autozone.. a week later (just my luck) i get a flat.take the tire to discount and they take the wheel off and later tell me its a hole in the sidewall and it cant be replaced..so im like ok fine..so today i go get the new tire..and i start to take off the old wheel to take it to get it unmounted and such..i stick the wheel lock on and it just slides off..im thinking my wheel lock is messed up so i go back to autozone show the guy the lock and he gave me another one only to go back home and have the same problem..so after some good looking at it i see that my wheel lock is totatlly ****ed. and theres no way that wheel lock is gonna work and the flat tire and wheel is stuck on my car..

what should i do? should i take it back up there and complain or what..i dont even see how you mess up taking a wheel lock off like that.

Did you give them the wheel lock before they worked on it? If not then they probably removed it with a standard socket and they rounded off the wheel lock.

You should walk in and calmly ask to speak to the manager. Explain the situation to him and ask him how he is going to resolve the problem. If you handle it in a mature manner the guy will probably call his parts shop and get you a new wheel lock while you wait.

Or you could be a whiney little ***** and throw a fit and they won't help you at all.

Your choice.

Good luck

Seriously though, they make a tool that can get those out. Most tire places have them. It is like the thing they use to get out broken screws, but it goes around the outside and digs in and twists it off.

You can go back and try to get them to do it for free and replace the parts, but they will probably just deny they did it.

They probably used an impact on it. Lock nuts/keys aren't designed to be used with impacts.
