ARC Parts.....Why?

Alright after numerous years of looking at these expensive parts, I want to know what other evo owners think of this stuff.

I saw a thread today about someones JDM ARC oil cap leaking and wonder....you bought a $135 cap and it's leaking. Somethings not jdm here.

Their products look appealing, specially due to the titanium features but come on......

Here are some links to the most popular parts bought by some members. I am appalled that people spend this kind of money.

I cant get over this one.....

I am probably forgetting some, such as ARC knobs, Oil Coolers...

We are talking over 10,000 in parts.......some not even beneficial.

Daily venting done.

ARC = Aftermarket Ripoff Company.

But you can't blame them... you can only blame the sad souls that keep them in business.

Guys, you get what you pay for. Some people prefer to spend their money on certain parts, whether it be ARC or Ralliart or whatever. The people spend the money because it is the part that they want. I have the ARC induction box, spark plug cover, and their shift knob. You know why I shelled out the money for them? Because the part appealed to me and I wasn't going change my mind. I realized that was the part I wanted and the money was not an issue. If someone is going to build their car the way they see fit then they won't take price into concern... too much. I will get the parts that I want no matter the cost.....sometimes it just takes longer It's all about personal preference and that's what great about modding the car; you make it more of yours than it was when it came from the factory.

Some people care about bling more than performance. There are cheaper parts you can get which perform the same if not better tan ARC parts.

I got a few ARC parts for my last Evo.

The prices in the links are CRAZY high for some of those part. You can definitely find them cheaper by spending like 2 minutes searching.

I don't think I would buy the ARC parts again beause there are probably better things to spend my money on. But for the most part the ARC parts that I did get (Oil Cap which never leaked was one of them) looked very nice.

And it's not like we're driving SRT-4's or something where the total of the ARC parts is probably worth more than the car itself. So it's not too much of a problem to have them in our case.

I have a bunch of ARC parts on my Evo as well but I got all of them for roughly 1/4 of the prices in those links because I bought them from EvoM members and not vendors.

The ARC Airbox and filter works great. Also, the ARC shift knob looks great.

If you have problem with ARC parts, dont buy them. Simple as that.

nobody is forcing you to buy ARC parts so your thread is pointless.

FUGLY and OVERPRICED. Anyone who has or wants to buy ARC parts I feel bad for you, cause its not my taste and while you are entitled to your own opinion, remember that there's gonna be a lot of people that look at your car and not think, 'man, that guy has a lot of money...look at all the bling!' they will actually be thinking 'omfg what a fugly waste of money!'

Spend your extra $$ on some uber bling wheels or a CF roof or something! The thing that gets me is that its usually the same guys that only do intake and spark plug cover and tout their evos as being 'modded' ....To most of us these mods are elementary and really that's what arc appeals to: kids that don't know any better! Well learn up son; there's better ways to spend your money, even if it is on bling

Ummm. To answer your question, because people should be able to buy whatever parts they want without caring if they are pissing off someone who for some reason cares how much money they spend on parts, you are not anyone elses keeper. Why are you so worried about what other people want to do with their money.

People work hard for their money, so they buy what they want. No one in here should be telling people how they're stupid for spending that much money on parts. It's their money and their car, so they do what they want. Notice how people who save and buy the things they want are always more satisfied than the ones who can't afford it and resort to something else, and justify it it by saying things are overpriced. Its great that there are cheaper alternatives, but maybe the cheaper alternative doesn't fit someone's ideas.
