We have two GSD's, both female. One is a year and the other 4 months. We love them both. They are a very loyal breed and our older one is an angel. She is the best dog ever, super easy to train (she learned fetch in 1/2 hour and I threw the frisbee and she caught it and brought it back the first time), never had an accident in the house. Our younger dog has explosive diarrhea when we first brought her in but has learned to potty train in less than 2 weeks.
We have crates for both of them and are crated when we are not at home, our older dog escaped from her kennel one day and ripped up the entire carpet in the guest room. It was a bad day. Other than that, we've had no chewing problems, we keep a bunch of bones and chew toys around.
They are a very active breed and they need to be exercised or else they'll go nuts and start running around in your house.
Oh and they SHED A LOT. I would invest in a good brush (we have the furminator) and a good vacuum cleaner.
Other than that, good luck and puppies are like little kids. They need constant attention and training. If you have any questions PM me! She's a cute dog!!
