But yeah its probably gonna be a pain in the ass to get the Govt to cover the damage. As it looks I have to pay my deductible and hope my insurance can recover it once they get the police report. Cops don't have insurance cards with their policies on it they are self insured or something, so god only knows when I will get my deductible back.
The cop who came to write the report wrote the cop who hit me a "Warning"...lol. i know he wouldn't get a ticket. Reverse the situation and you bet your ass i would have had gotten a ticket.

Are you f***ing kidding me? There would be no way in hell that I would file a claim on my insurance if I got re ended, +100000 for it being a cop. He has insurance...all the cop cars do. I would raise hell...and make sure that he got a ticket for failure to reduce speed..he hit you no question on that...he should not have gotton off with a warning. I would never file a claim and wait to be refunded...make the city pay for it. I would also file a complaint, and write a letter to the local newspaper....

For some reason that just doesn't sound right. Can't put my finger on it though...
On another note, thats good that it wasn't as bad as it seemed, and the cop was actually nice.

+1 I didn't see any exaggeration. Perhaps when you said "plowing" people just stopped reading an assumed he "plowed" into you. To me, that sentence just painted a picture of everyone braking chaotically, not a massive impact.

Fix it at the dealership to your satisfaction. Pay the dealership's invoice and then submit it to the local government for reimbursement. If they don't pay it within a reasonable amount of time, file a complaint against them in small claims court (usually for a small, $25-50 fee). Either the local government will reimburse you, or they will be forced to reimburse you.

Very true, the cop had no right to be anything but cool. Total BS that the guy got a warning though, I'd be a little mad about that. No way in hell any normal person would get a break in that situation.

Maybe I have superior reading comprehension or something but his story seemed completely coherent to me.

Please Guys/Girls dont take life for granted
A lot of you people out there dont know me. That's fine. Today I wrecked my evo. It happened when I was going on the 795 ramp going south. As I was driving, there was a lot of loose gravel and sand on the road. Instantly my car lost control. I only had two options either come in contact with a pole, or go into a ditch. I choose the ditch. Next my car hit a manhole cover and caused it to roll over twice. Luckily it never touched the roof and landed on all four wheels. All the glass stayed intact. Thank God.
Guys I am totally fine no bruises or broken bones. I am just really sore. I just thank God that I am alive to tell this story. Sorry Lonnie, Ray and Charlie "Kreonic" you did not get the chance to work on the evo. lol. I pray that it wont be totalled.
Please guys can do one favor and just slow it down.
