Jersey last for good roads.
Ranking State Road Systems by Overall Performance
1. North Dakota 26. West Virginia
2. South Carolina 27. Arizona
3. Kansas 28. Arkansas
4. New Mexico 29. Colorado
5. Montana 30. Louisiana
6. Georgia 31. North Carolina
7. Wyoming 32. Washington
8. Oregon 33. Illinois
9. Nevada 34. New Hampshire
10. Idaho 35. Iowa
11. South Dakota 36. Pennsylvania
12. Kentucky 37. Vermont
13. Minnesota 38. Maryland
14. Indiana 39. Connecticut
15. Texas 40. Delaware
16. Ohio 41. Florida
17. Missouri 42. Michigan
18. Virginia 43. Alabama
19. Nebraska 44. California
20. Tennessee 45. Massachusetts
21. Utah 46. Hawaii
22. Wisconsin 47. Rhode Island
23. Maine 48. New York
24. Oklahoma 49. Alaska
25. Mississippi 50. New Jersey
the national average is 13% New Jersey comes in with 46% of roads in poor condition. Where is all the toll and tax money going? Jersey gets a cut of GWB lincoln tunnel- holland tunnel- turnpike- parkway and taxes. Turnpike has average of 560,000 vehicles daily. Average revenue 350mill.
Thought something was wrong with steering in the car, turns out the road is crap. Ive driven through number 1 north dakota pretty sure they only have one road to mantain

I dont even want to put my reemz on, because of all the damn potholes. 1 Stretch of route 9 in old bridge is awful.

9evolution, what is the source for this? I am just curious about who did the study.
I do not doubt it. Part of the reason my truck is my daily driver is the condition of NJ roads. It is funny, I go to Pennsylvania or Connecticut and think they have great roads. Just judging by how low they are on this list says how really awful NJ roads have become by comparison to all other states...

Yea thats pretty weird seeing as though New Jersey is one of the most expensive and wealthiest states in the U.S. today.

Haha, No...Corzine FTW. You should look up what he's done for New Jersey.
Sorry about you not being able to put on your rims, but if you look at the bright side of things....Obama "says" he wants to tackle road work so chances are New Jersey will be one of the first states done.

Haha, I drove the Evo down Rt. 9 for the first time today (on the way home from Ivey) and that stretch was awful. Never really noticed it before in my other cars.
This list doesn't surprise me a bit though. Rt. 130 between 133 and Rt. 1 is the worst road I've driven on. There are bumps the size of speed bumps down the entire stretch of road.

I read it in usa today. Then I looked up national USA road ratings and did some reading. Pretty sure that the info is accurate

Been to Pittsburgh roads there are bad but its localized to the areas of populous. drive 30-40 min out of pittsburg in any direction the population diminishes greatly.
The North East gets pounded, 1/3rd of the US pop is between Boston and DC. I live in howell NJ near lots of farms those roads are in great shape.

No surprise here. Jersey is without a doubt the worst state to live in and I can't wait to get the hell out. Every road I travel on is just a nightmare for my EVO, let alone any car that's lowered and has a nice set of wheels. The cops are all pricks. Not to mention I'll never own a house in this God-forsaken state.
/end rant
