Thumbs up Interior Light Conversion (done by Acree. Pics by Rmondoh)

So Acree finally finished the conversion to my car. There were a few hiccups along the way with things not looking/coming out right, but he kept at it and I have to say that I am absolutely FLOORED with how well it all looks. Acree definitely knows what he is doing as you will see by the pictures to follow.

Check out his work below. I took before and after pictures of almost everything. I am really pleased with how everything turned out. It was hard trying not to crash into everything because I kept admiring how well everything looked, but I made it home in one piece!

Thank you very much Acree for such a GREAT job. This guy definitely pays attention to detail! He even rinsed my car off because it had collected so much dust and tree pollen for the past week. Truly a professional job Acree.

*disclaimer: It is F-ING hard to take pictures at night and have them come out not so blurry. Either my DSLR is not good enough or I suck as a photographer and my money is on the latter!

those looks damn good!! i'd prolly keep the needle white changing orange then red...or just white to red. either way they look good!

So if I understand what Acree did on mine, here is the scoop (Acree, correct me if I'm wrong).

Originally I wanted a 3 color needle...something like Blue -> Yellow -> Red. However, given the amount of space and how the needle collects light from the light source, there was always going to be some slight bleed over in colors (even if Acree narrowed the light collecting angle). So while it would have looked super awesome (according to me) for it to go from Blue -> Yellow -> Red, that bleed over section would have made it 5 colors: Blue -> slightly Green for a second -> Yellow -> slightly Orange for a second -> Red. Acree explained this to me at MOD and it made perfect sense. So I decided to go with 2 colors (Blue -> Red) and left it up to him on whether or not 3 colors would work. Looking at it now, I think doing 3 distinct colors would not look as good so I'm glad with how it turned out.

In your examples though, the White -> Orange -> Red might turn out ok since you're starting out with White and the bleed over sections would probably match up well since they are kind of naturally progressing colors in a way, but like I said, depending on the space back there, it might not come out well after it's constructed. I'll leave that up to Acree to decide since he's seen the inside of the gauge. However, for the White -> Red...almost certain you'd have a Pink section somewhere.

As I said, I'm trying to remember everything Acree told me so I could be off on some things, but I think I'm fairly accurate.

That's about right. It might be possible to cut the blend area down somewhat, but white + red = washed out red aka pink.

so, if you do it white --> red, it'll be white, orange, red when it does the switch right?

No, it would probably come out white, pink, red. You need yellow and red to make orange.

I think the whole process took a week but only because Acree had to get parts and figure some things out. He hadn't done the color changing needle before so some tinkering had to happen for that. I think if he were to do it now, he could probably knock it out in a weekend.
