2008 EVO MR vs 1994 RX-7 Twin Turbo
Alright guys, we have a potential problem. One of my good friends at work just bought a 1994 Twin Turbo Rx-7, and she, yes SHE, is challenging me to a race. So whats my odds in a straight line race on a closed course? Her car is completely stock, mint condition, with 5,000 miles on it. Obviously, my sig carries my list of mods, but again, I am untuned. What do you guys think, do I have a chance? Obviously, it will come down to two items, the launch of the cars, and her ability to quickly shift between gears.
She should be able to launch harder than me due to the "slow" take off of the MR (even with the launch control engaged its not that violent of a launch)
But I should be able to gain ground once all the shifting begins, (cause I don't have to shift HAHAHAHAHA)
I think it might be a close race.
I've done a little research, and here is what I have found:
1994 Rx-7 1.3L Twin Turbo, 5,000 miles, manual
255 horsepower, 217 torque
2800 pound car
0-60, 5 second range

The key here is stock. Many people swap the twin sequential turbos for one big single turbo and push over 450 WHP at 20 pounds of boost.

also take note that is 2800 lbs car compare to 3500+lbs. but i think it will be an interesting match.

Dude, just go to autotrader and in the serch criteria, put in unlimited mileage from your lip code, hers is the 3rd one down, green metallic with tan interior. Even underneath the car in clean as a whistle.

Yes, Sean I know the EVO is not a drag car, especially my MR, but a little drag race here and there doesn't hurt.
