It's the same really either way. Snap in simply lets you remove them much easier if you can use the eyebolts. In my car they're eyebolts and snap in's with room to spare.

And this is back when the cage was installed:



Pretty simple and functional, it keeps the angle of the strap matching the angle of the waist hole and keeps it back where you can get to it. One thing my region's tech guys always insist on with clips is a piece of safety wire holding it closed in the provided pin holes.
