So two questions:

1) So who owns the car, EvoD, KevinD, or the driver?

2) Can you elaborate on the break dry connections? It sounds like they allow a quick disconnect that also seals both connections, meaning you won't have to drain the radiator when you take it out?

1) its my car (kevinD), although most of the parts are EvoD parts... its one and the same though since i own EvoD.

2) the dry break connections are quick release hoses that don't leak fluid when they seperate. so you can disconnect your radiator for instance and not have to drain any fluid. i've actually reconsidered the radiator dry break fittings though because they cost 450 dollars. i will definately be doing the clutch line for the quartermaster, and the power steering pump as well. the fittings are smaller and cheaper and at least in the case of the clutch, is a total PITA to bleed. the coolant system is a piece of cake to fill.

I knew you owned the car previously, but I didn't know if you sold it or something. This will be awesome for EvoD and getting the name out beyond DFW.

I have no idea they had dry break connections. That is freaking awesome.

Is there any wiring work that needs to be done? Let me know... I've been doing nothing but wiring harnesses, mil-spec connections, data-i/o, and systems integration since I started at bell. I'd love to have a hand in this car.

more work done:
got the water neck and thermostat hosing back from powdercoating, all the turbo is reassembled with new gaskets, safety wire on the bolts i could drill through, turbo blanket, and all the lines are made (-AN oil feed and drain, -AN water lines, and radiator hoses)

the core support is nearly complete, we have the radiator done, with some modified torque solution radiator mounts to hold the top in place, the bumper tabs are all welded on, and we just have left hood quarter turn fittings, intercooler brackets and a power steering cooler bracket to make. i might have to make something for the APR front splitter as well.

other things in the works:

- i've got all the suspension off the car getting sand blasted clean and replacing the worn out wheel bearings.

- the seat is getting remounted.

- i'm making the wiring harness now

- Acree is helping fix the DASH2 digital dash/GPS/Datalogger wiring harness from the previous owner. it hasn't worked once...

- got the new manley crank because haven't gotten my used 2.3 oem crank from AWD motorsports yet and its been a while, and i need to get moving on engine assembly.

- fire suppression system is on its way

i have hood fitment, seat fitment, and the remainder of the core support then i'm sending it all to the painters... likely 1 more week of work for that to happen!!!

I can't wait to see how it all comes together. I'm hoping to make it to the race too. Good luck with the build.

I'm doing a matte gray. Slightly lighter then graphite gray and slightly darker then silver. The sls Mercedes and the BMW frozen gray m3 were what I was thinking. Accenting with electric blue

malibujack provided me with the APR front splitter which i plan to use more then likely as time constraints will more then likely limit how much aero i can build before the race. it is now mounted on the bumper:

two more tabs up front and the core support will be 100% ready. moving forward i have the following:

1) hood fasteners mounted
2)firewall fasteners mounted
3)rear fender flares to install
4)suspension to install bushings and remount on the car

bring it to paint which is tentatively scheduled for next weekend

Remount that splitter so it hangs out 5" and that will balance well with a big rear wing.

We plan to do some testing on both aero and suspension settings. I'm sure we will find something that works

Looking good! She's coming along very nicely!

Is that the Setrab 625 cooler (same one AMS uses in their kit)? What size -AN lines are you runnign? 8? 10?

I'm doing a similar setup except with no venting from the front bumper, just an oil temp activated Spal pusher fan. . .
