I have been currently running a set of revalved Bilsteins (from the MR) and doing fairly well. I consistently run in the top of PAX in my region, and even won the Wendover Prosolo this year besting multiple time national champ Scott McHugh (on a set of 60 run Kumho 710's) and other accomplishments........so if you need someone to help develop a winning setup for the evo, just let me know.
Btw, I dont have any problem with excessive front tire wear and I run only 2deg negative (all I can seem to get) in the front.

Why didn't you go to Nationals? That's really going to give you the best idea of where you and the car measure up. I'd love to see an Evo do well in AS! Good luck!

Thats a fair question, and the reason why is its 22+ hours each way. I would like to go and will most likely make it in 2009. Its pretty discouraging to go when you have people saying in places like sccaforums and I quote, "nobody was stupid enough to show up in an evo in Astock this year".
More to the point, and the reason why I responded to "fair" was the fact that big $ Astock legal shocks are going to be a hard sell if nobody thinks the car can even come close to a win. Why not support someone that has put a few marks up on the board against a national champion and help him help you? Iam sure if an evo trophys at nats (not saying I will, I would hope for the top half of the field at this point) it will become a popular car for the class, it just takes time and patience.

By all means, check out the Vorshlag Test Pilot Program and apply: http://www.vorshlag.com/vtpp.php In this program we can offer additional support and discounted pricing, when its a situation that let's us work with a dedicated/active racer to test out a new AST product, new car model coverage or a new class/style shock like this. We don't, however, give shocks away for free - but neither does Penske, Ohlins, JRZ, or Moton.
Thanks,

Although gas shocks are explicitly permitted, I think the use of double-pressurized shocks would be protestable, as you're using the shock to change the spring rate, which is not allowed. It's kind of a grey area.
For a comparison of the Evo's potential to the rest of AS, I switched from driving my Evo (stock shocks, as much camber as I could get, and a big FSB) to co-driving a Solstice GXP. I was 2 seconds faster in the GXP right out of the box, based on relative results with the rest of my region. Then we put on the Z0K package and I gained another second. I came in 30th of 60 at Nationals that year. This year, we put on some better shocks, gained some more time, and I ended up 16th (last trophy spot) at Nationals. In my opinion, any of the runs I put down would be impossible in an Evo.
Next year, on concrete, the Evo loses even more time to the 2wd cars. I just don't see it.
That being said, I look forward to seeing you in Lincoln. I'll make sure I stop by and say hi.

You do realize that Wendover is concrete right?
So you had stock shocks, what size tires did you run on your evo? How many years did you develop the car?

Hmm, shall I use the sabre or the pistol today???
I've only had my Z0K GXP for about 3 weeks now, but I like it...

I ran in A stock for a while. Locally you can be competitive but the Evo is at a disadvantage with the S2000 and Solstice. The Solstice just does not roll as much. The Evo sits too high and the spring rates are too low.

I know Wendover is concrete. I was running 245/40R17 Hoosiers. I know you can fit 275s. I'm just saying, I don't think there's that much time in the car. Even with custom shocks and the bigger tires, I still think I'd be faster in the Solstice.
Hmm... maybe I'll take it out sometime next year and run it back to back with the GXP just to get a same-course same-driver comparison.

Are those the 275 Hoosiers in the picture, or are they the Evo tires?

I have a few things that Evo 8 and 9 A Stockers might be interested in. I will ship.
Cleaning out the garage - Evo 8 stuff (big pictures)

Awesome video. I was running street tires, but I just got my first set of R-comps and have yet to run them. I take it you're running the stock struts, not adjustables after watching the vid. You seem to be getting a lot of rotation though. Mind if I ask what your setup is?
