power windows on your track car?

I want to get rid of my power windows...

What is everyone else doing with their track cars and the windows. Maybe I can convince a local RS owner to swap me parts.

Bought an RS so I didn't have to worry about that

If its weight you're looking to save, I've been told that the electric motors aren't that much heavier than the cranking mechanism.

Ya I remember reading that too, the weight savings isn't worth the hassle and the lose of convience there. If your gonna do that might as well gut the door and install Lexan like I did

i've done a swap. its definately not any lighter at all. you can save some weight ripping the speaker, foam insulation, and the door panel if you really wanted...

^^ Is it worth taking the door panel off to remove the speaker for weight?

I thought I read they're like 4 lbs each but don't remember exactly --> or maybe that's the rears.

I'm already too skinny, 6'2", 155lbs. I can't gain weight, even when I try - better take the speakers out, and give up on rockin' on the drive to the track.

i pulled my door panels and speakers 2 nights ago along with the wiring. Not sure what to do with that glass? I'm not liking it too much

Speakers hardly weighed a think. They are not hard to get out though.. I say if you have the time just do it and dont worry about it anymore

Does anyone make something to cover the inner door panels? Besides Seibon? I dont like the look all that much and I dont have time right now for any fab work

ohhhh, and zip tying your windows up in the rear is key!! hahaha

hmm sounds like sarcasm, lol..

I really dont need front windows so I will leave them out but i do want to pin the rears and skin the doors

Ken Block has electric windows...

Also we took out my front windows to swap them to a lexan ones. That was a big surprise ... they are negligible lighter then a Lexan we looked up../same thickness and size/.
The rear windshield should be a a bigger saving, but right now its just too much money for lb.

That is interesting. My push was for not eating glass when someone or something colides with my door. Plus the rules. But for your street-want to turn into racecar-then wish you'd left it as street car, i'd leave it. However knowing you you'll come up with something regardless lol.

the power motor assembly and track its attached to weighs 2lb 12oz. the manual system also has the same track just instead of the motor it has a crank. i don't see even 1lb weight savings ( i didn't have the RS manual window parts around to weigh).
