EVOLUTION DYNAMICS unlimited Time Attack Build!

ok, so we have had this rolling shell lying around since around april, and we FINALLY got most of the parts to put it together and give it a shake down!

so we got this car from zerokei (big thanks!) as a destruction titled car, meaning it can never be titled. perfect car for a track car! it can pretty well stripped. no motor/tranny/transfercase/seats. fortunately we had a large amount of this stuff lying around the shop.

so on to the build. here is what we started with tonight!

the car does have bumpers (they are off right now), but came with no hood or fenders. we are going with seibon widebody fenders, and our home brew dry carbon hood thanks to alejandro the mad carbon creator fenders are looking to arrive friday big thanks to driveline on that for getting them here in time (hopefully). the hood might not be ready for next week, but certainly by next year.

heres lauren stripping the interior out

richard taking the ventilation system:

and the first round of interior stripping nearly complete:

we still have a lot to get rid of in there. tucking wires, getting ride of all the airbag system, cutting off useless brackets etc etc etc...

heres whats going inside in place of everything:

the cage will be made in house by denver this winter after we verify everything is ok next week.

and for the good stuff:

evodynamics 2.3L stroker motor. its got a blunt edged crank (shaved 4 pounds), wiseco pistons, eagle rods, ACL bearings, oringed block, and entire rotating assembly was balanced.

bottom end assembled:

and to top it off:

cosworth big valve head. we are running kelford 272 cams in it, arp headstuds to hold it together.

and the other stuff:

HTA86 turbo kit, which we will be swapping out for something with a bit quicker spool eventually(CBRD is sopposed to be sending denver a turbo we are going to try).

AMS intercooler:

avid billet motor mounts, hawk DTC-70 pads, cams and a box full of goodies.

big thanks to shep as well, here is our stage 2 transfercase (will most likely will change out to a quaffe later).

still waiting on our transmission for shep though... PLEASE HURRY!

also big thanks to mil.spec for helping us with the 65mm throttle body and ported intake manifold which should be here shortly.

we will be running E85 on this car, double pumper made by denver, 1450cc injectors to start with.

to get started we are sporting these:

275 hoosiers on my wedsport sa70 wheels. we have performance friction 2 piece rotors for the front. this winter we will switch over to 18's with big brakes but for now the budget allows what we have

more to come!

current mod list:
2.3L motor
wiseco pistons
eagle rods
ARP main/head studs
ACL race bearings
balance shaft eliminator
cosworth big valve head
kelford 272 cams
AMS HTA86 turbo kit

With a 2.3L, I'd go with an HTA3582.

Build looks promising.

Its fine for a race car... Just pretty much one of the worst bov's for daily driving, i got suckered into buying one myself... I tested it myself cranked all the way down to hold 35-36psi before a tinnny leak.. at 38 it was spewing air.

Good luck on the build!

Cheers!

The Part-throttle mid-corner is where it kills. Terrible bucking and almost makes it undrivable because your transfering weight rapidly. I personally run the oem 9/mr valve with a stiffer spring, its sooooo much smoother. I think jid2, nils, and several dozen others all "used" to have that valve too for street driving until they started tracking hard.

yeah, the oem 9 valve even smashed wont hold nearly enough boost. as 4ws said, we are targeting 35+psi. i do love the driveability of the 9 valve, don't get me wrong, but it wont work for our application. i actually run the Forge RS on my daily driver. with the stock turbo it bucked like crazy all the time (i turned it as soft as it would go and still bucked). with the 35r its not nearly as bad though. i don't have any issue at 25-32psi on my daily driver with my forge RS and 35r, spring set nearly as tight as it will go (although i can make it flutter, i know when it happens and how to avoid it).
