we finally got some fenders in!!!!! i had to go straight to seibon, and they found someone who had them in stock within 15 minutes. by the end of the day i had a track number and 5 days later fenders!!!!

i haven't bolted them on yet. i just stuck them on the car to get an approx fit/finish of them.

and i took a picture of the dyno chart as well... its hard to see any numbers, but the flatness of the torque curve is what i like also, i am planning on revving out to 8500rpm and we were stopping at 7500. judging by the slope of the torque curve we already have 600+whp if i rev it out a bit farther.

wow what a weekend!

friday night after finishing up a customers car around 11pm, i got to get loading up the race car for the first track day. as i was starting it up, it was running awful, tons of misfire, and idling on 3 cylinders. i figured it was due to E85 and cold start, but after it warmed up, it acted even worse. about 3 hours later, i replaced spark plugs, coil packs (we are on stock until the spoolinup ones get here), spark plug wires, compression test, leak down test, i finally narrowed the problem down to a bad soldering joint on the connector for the coils. the previous owner had some ignition amps on it and cut the wires to the connectors, the solder joint to repair it wasn't solid and was loosing signal to the coil pack. once fixed it ran like a champ! we finished loading the car at 4:30am

6:30 am saturday we get up and head out to Eagles canyon. we turned the boost down to wastegate to get a feel for the car (17psi, 400whp) first session we had our fingers crossed as richard was first in the blue group. his first full session went flawless. no issues what so ever.
i followed in the yellow group right after him, and also had an excellent first session out in the car.
Richards second group we started finding the bugs with the car. first problem was with our home built prototype double pumper. one of the pumps pushed out of its seat causing the car to run lean at WOT. this is another design issue we will have resolved shortly. in the mean time we removed it, used a clamp to hold the pumps together better and put it back in. fixing this took me out of my second session.

richards third session more bugs appeared. after only a couple laps the car was running lean again, but this time, very loud and slow. we pulled in, and checked it out, ALL the turbo outlet pipe bolts fell off!! all 5!! also a bolt fell off the turbo to manifold flange. basically we head cycled it and all the bolts vibrated off additionally we sprung a small oil leak.

that ended our day though. we loaded it back up and went home.

things to fix:

oil leak
safety wire all the bolts connected to the turbo
double pumper revisions
part throttle tuning was off (likely due to said issues above)
need a quick release steering wheel ASAP!!

Sounds familiar. I worked on my car in between every session for my first 5 track days after my build.

you can race your evo year round just trailer it down here and i'm from michigan, i've had my fair share of driving on white roads.

few small updates:

jim stopped by and fixed out driver side fender. the door would hit it every time it opened. he pulled the fender out to the correct position and it doesn't hit anymore

goofygrin also stopped by and we test fit the 18x10.5" enkei rims i would like to go with eventually. they fit under the fenders though and looked great!

But I made enough money doing it to buy all my fabricating equipment: TIG welder, saws, drills, grinders etc...
That's awesome Jared. The ramp and staging area around :50 - 1:00 I built a 3D model for the promotion team, and my brother fabbed and built it. Small little world. (The Red Bull logo was done by a graphitti artist, one of my brothers friends.)
