Man those things are not cheap - I need one also - anybody in the Calgary, Alberta area that can hook me up with one? Used maybe or at dealer cost + a little to pad your pocket? Let me know! I guess I might have to see if any of the junk yards have them

Sorry if i took a while to reply. I finally fixed mine without buying one from the dealership. The power lock actuator on the driver's side can be fixed with a little patience. I started to remove my door panel, so i can remove the whole lock assembly which is such a p.i.t.a. to remove since its all connected together with the door latch. LOL.
You will need to open the actuator water tight casing, which you will have access to the little electric motor that turns the gears inside. all i did was i opened that motor and cleaned it with an electric connector spray cleaner, put everything back on together and it works!
as time goes by, that little electric motor builds up carbon because of the magnet that moves inside. and mine was effin dirty! as soon as i got rid of the carbon build up, it finally work.
btw, when puting it back on together, i just used an epoxy glue to seal the actuator casing back together. works fine with me!
its a very tedious job but hey, it saved me about $250 from buying the whole assembly from the dealership.

Removed da styrofoam...you'll then have to carefully remove the lock cylinder and handle push rods
BLUE loctite on STUPID phillips head bolts...
Cleaned up contacts and gears, re-lubed all and reassembled in reverse order, duh
End result is: I still need a new lock actuator.
It works better but every now and then doesn't move and I have to use my key to unlock/lock the door. When I put power to the motor in the actuator it would spin then quit...thus a faulty motor so I still need a new lock.
But I figured I would post the few pics I took.

That electric motor that says "made in Vietnam" that's the one that u need to open up too. You missed that step.. there is a carbon build up in there because of the magnet that moves in there. You can use an electric aerosol spray cleaner or even a brake cleaner once u open that mechanism up. I used 2 small screw drivers to pry that thing open. I'll try to post up some pix. I do have an extra electric motor that I pulled out from an eclipse thinking it would be the same size. The motor is the same size but the gear on the eclipse actuator is a fixed metal gear, not a plastic removable gear just like on an evo, and the diameter of the gear on the little electric motor on the eclipse is a lot smaller. That's why I was forced to pry open and clean that little electric motor that broke on the evo.
