This remote is totally seperate remote. So you will have 2 remotes on your keychain.

Note: Remote Engine Start is available only for vehicles with automatic transmissions. It
works with TC-SST, CVT and other automatic transmissions. It is not backwards compatible
with previous model year vehicles as the vehicle’s computer system must be designed to
integrate with the accessory for it to function.

Drives: 2009 Outlander XLS

I am purchasing a 2009 Outlander XLS and of course the dealer does not know anything about the Mitsubishi remote starter.

Can you please answer a few questions about it

1) how many remotes do you get ? 1 or the normal 2 ?

2) what is used as the antenna for the remote receiver in the vehicle ? Is it internal to the vehicle or an add on antenna as used by many after market remotes (ie an antenna mounted at the top of the window) ?

If I decide not to go with the mitsubishi remote starter is there an aftermarket one that you would recommend ? The dealer is suggesting one made by code-alarm (audiovox) but I do not know anything about them and their website does not work.

Thank you
Rick

Drives: Traded 09 GTS for a RR 08 GSR w/ SSS & Aero

sometimes third party or aftermarket remote starters will stop working or screw up, at least if you got the OEM one you could always bring it in under warranty with the car.

Once car is starter with the remote, do you have to push the brake to stop the car and restart it so it will recognize the fast key once you are in the car or you just put the car to "on" and it works without stopping/restarting the car? Thanks"
