So, with all the questioning on the Diaqueen Manual Transmission Fluid I decided to phone Mitsubishi Tech Line about this. The reasoning is that my catalog on list 1 part number and that isnt even the number I use.
So, from what I have gathered Mitsubishi is going to GL-3 Fluids. The recommended fluid in the tech manual is GL-4. The only GL-3 fluid you can get comes in a 5 gallon container and is pretty pricey.
Also, he said he didnt see any problem using the GL-4 (MZ313376) in either transmission. There is supposed to be a brand new lube chart out that technicians are supposed to have gotten at the new Eclipse training class, but I will have to look into that further.
Hopefully this clears some things up.

It kind of did the same thing for me. It seems to me that Mitsubishi is in the middle of changing their fluid specifications. I dont see anyone buying a 5 gallon container of Diaqueen that retails for about $322, unless it is a shop or something that services a lot of EVO's. So my question was 'is it fine to use the part number MZ313376 and I was told it wouldnt hurt anything.
I have gotten conflicting information from Mitsubishi. The technical manual says one thing, our technicians say one thing, Mitsubishi parts specifiers say one thing and tech line say another. Its too confusing...I dont think they know what needs to go in the 5 or 6 speed. One things is clear to me -- I ONLY sale the 6 speed fluid and that is for 5 & 6 speed transmissions. This is what customers order, this is what we stock.
If anyone has some information to provide that can clear this up -- I say go ahead.

What is everyone running in the 03 and 04 Evos that do NOT have an LSD in the t-case? All I can find anywhere is the diaqueen for LSD!

They all use the same fluid. 04 RS and 06-06 have helical diffs.

I understand they all have helical diffs, but they don't all have limited slip and therefore don't require the friction modifier. I wonder what long term effects could be of running a friction modifier in a non limited slip diff.

No, you DON'T understand. They all take the SAME FLUID.
ACD contains clutch plates on 05-06 which is a separate system.
For the third time they all take the same fluid.

Calm down there buddy. I am just trying to clarify the information here.
Don't the 05-06 also have a limited slip front end? Therefore the need for the LSD friction modifier (which is why I need it in my rear end). Healical gears and limited slip are two different things. Just because my car has a healical gear set in the diff doesn't mean there is a limited slip. The helical gear set is why we care about the GL-4 and GL-5 ratings of the oil, not weather its LSD or not.
If the only thing Mitsubishi sells is the Diaqueen LSD, then I guess I will have to run it. But that is just their gear lube with the friction modifier already added. Those of us without limited slip do NOT need the friction modifier just because we have healical gears. This is the point I am trying to clarify as I have read some conflicting information and would like to know for sure if they sell a non LSD oil.

There is no such thing as a non-lsd diaqueen.

No, I havent heard anything. I get email updates from our rep, but havent seen anything regarding fluids. I wish they would run a promo on Diaqueen because I would buy a palet of it if possible and sale it dirt cheap, but I havent seen anything.
