Cold weather + hard downshift

I know there is a flash mitsu will do for owners in upper states. They won't offer the flash as a just in case here in florida because of the warmer weather.

Anyways, does this issue have anything to do with what I experienced:

Weather in florida has been great, 70s. However, the cold is causing my car to be rather confused. I am getting the low pressure (which is expected...) but also, yesterday while I was driving and coming to a stop: my car violently downshifted from 2nd to 1st in manual sport mode. My face came close to hitting the stirring wheel.

Does this have anything to do with the flash they do? Or was that for starting issues?

Mine does it in auto mode all the time. If you are coming to a stop and you get it just right where the tranny is going to down shift but you barely push in the gas to speed up (like a rolling stop sign) the car will violently downshift. I am pretty sure its a normal occurrence since there are plenty of other MR owners that have experienced this. It happens to me in the 90+ degree whether so its not a cold thing.

Yep. This is very, very, very common. No matter what the weather is. The car pretty much slaps you on the head cuz it donst like that hahah

IDK if that flash fixes this. I doubt it.

U just can't give it gas on a rolling stop on auto mode

Auto NORMAL mode...I never have this problem in Sport :-P

I managed to do it again yesterday. Ahahahha...I think its because in Normal the clutches are just letting go, then you step on it, and it just CLAMPS hard which is why you get the weird jerk.

Well I find it that if I fall in the situation of a rolling stop in auto mode, I just press the gas oh so slightly. I am starting to think it is something like what verkion mention above.

I've had it happen in auto sport mode to but it just doesn't hit as hard.

Yeah its mad annoying. has ANYONE found a way to finesse it? i guess sport mode holds 2nd for as long as possible, probably so that if you hit the gas again you get instant acceleration and arent bogged down by rpm being below 2-3k...?
