Any actual reviews of the SSP ClutchPacks?

Has there been any actual installs and/or reviews of the SSP clutch packs and oil coolers?

I am very interested but cannot just buy them without some real intel..

I really want to do a Blouch Dominator turbo upgrade but dont trust the SST for those power levels...

I doubt we will see many installed. The cost of the clutch plus installation will be hi. I think most would rather keep there MR with a few bolt-ons so when they fry the clutch they can swap out parts and return to dealer. When you go down the clutch up grade, oil cooler, new turbo road you are dumping a lot of coin into this ticking time bomb of a tranny. At that point go get a GT-R for 800 a month lease.

Whats the fun in just getting a GTR though? I mean I like modding my car.. I just want to do so in a reliable fashion.. You really dont think the SST can be made reliable with just the clutchpacks and oil cooler?

I dont see how you can say the cost of the clutch packs and install will be high. What are you looking at around 1K for the clutch packs and 1K for labor to install. Look at doing a performance standard clutch. It is around 1K+ for the clutch & 500+ for install. Not that much difference.

well I think its 2000 for the clutch and 1000 for the install. But u dont get the point. a GT-R with a tune is at 500 whp. After spending all this cash 15,000 including labor for clutch, tranny cooler, turbo kit plus all accessories, then after all this , the tranny blows, now what????? If you want big power you either have very deep pockets or get a gsr.

time will tell, personal I think the group of people that blow out the MR will be small. I'll do bolt-ons and take to the dealer when the tranny grenades, damn thing clunks enough as it is.

Well... there is no need to bring up the GTR in a thread about SSP clutch packs....

On that note, I think it may still be a bit early for clutchpack reviews. But I would keep an eye on TheSin's SST project thread as it seams he is one of the close first to do it. (and write a review about it LOL)

I think that 2000 for the clutches is a bit too high. I did see vividracing had them for 1200, and they are usually on the high side of prices.

I am , actually I like my MR over 300 whp very good car. I just dont think its the model to buy when going for big hp , anyone that owns one knows the tranny feels like it can crap out at any time. I would hate to be sitting with a 450 whp evo, tons of mods and the tranny goes. now what??????? rip it all out put back to stock or spend 8,000 on new tranny cause no one can fix it.

It costs @1500 to have the clutch packs upgraded on a GTR, I would assume ours woudl be somewhere south of that. Now, I haven't talked to my friend to get all the detaisl, that might have been JUST the packs, no labor, but either way, you get the idea.

All seems kind of fishy doesnt it? "Several" customer cars fitted with the clutch packs but no reviews? No comments whatsoever? What they installed them and just said "done here are the keys bon voyage!" I'm finding it hard to believe anyone would be installing these and not be an active member here. Not even an internal product review. Nothing about how the software handles the revised torque capacity, which everyone was concerned about. Not a single driveability comment anywhere....
