Drives: X MR

Who would switch to a Manual if given the chance?

There are some positives about the sst, like Drivng it in S-sport mode. I drive mostly in sport mode. I just cant take the clunking when you slow up and take off quick, the tranny needs a moment to downshift and it is driving me crazy. I don't believe it needs service, anyone here that drives their MR hard knows what I'm talking about.

i would in a heart beat.Honestly never liked auto tranny, only thing better about MR is the suspension. It does not pull like normal transmission, no neck snap and driver has no control over the car. Yes even in manual mode...sorry love the car but missed my 8..so very much RIP..

Never drove the MR, but did drive the RA. The SST seemed to buck so I know what you mean.

No regret and I love the SST! I change my driving style a little for every new car I own due to their different design and new technology.

I really like the SST. The only time I feel it's lacking is in first gear getting off the line, after that I can manage the shifts as if it were manual (you need to master the timing, but it's a learned skill, just like mastering a clutch). I do miss feeling connected to the machine the way that I did with my manual, but am willing to accept the tradeoff every time i'm stuck in san francisco bay area traffic for several hours. I used to literally arrive home with a sore left leg from operating the clutch!

As far as the power mods... it's definitely a concern but people seem to be doing the mods anyways (myself included). I am currently looking at the SSP and upcoming AMS coolers for the SST and will definitely invest in clutch packs when they're available.

Now, if I lived in a less populated area, or didn't use the car for my commute and only as a track machine... sure, I'd trade

I'm 50/50. I have the MR because I DID want an automatic car, because it's my "nice car". Good for chill drives, and has plenty of power. I love a stick, and my truck is a stick, but I love the SST.
