Clamping Sound & Jerky Movement RA

Anyone experience these?

1. Right after starting the car there are two clamping sounds coming from the engine.
2. Car starts jerking sometimes when I'm making a u-turn.

I think it's the twin clutch transmission. Mine does that at cold start up too.

Not sure about the U-turn thing. Might be a tight CV at extreme angles of steering?

right after start up. ( you have not moved yet ).

you hear "click- clack"... that is the sst checking / settting posistions. normal

some times , AWD vehicles "feel" strange when making tight turns 'cause front wheels turn...........back wheels do not....and....

...outside wheels turn faster than the inside wheels.

RTFM on point #1.

And never noticed jerkyness on mine when doing full-lock u-turns.

Wow, it's pretty funny. I was going to make a thread about that "click-clack" noise on start up as well. I also notice this same exact sound sometimes when decelerating from 2nd gear to 1st gear on normal D mode, for instance, stopping at a red light.

If you read the manual, or the TSB on the TC-SST, you would find the answer to this question.

As for the two noises you hear, this is 1st and 2nd gear being engaged.

When you turn the car off, there's a 2 second delay. This is ONLY in TC-SST equipped vehicles because it is disengaging 1st and 2nd gear.

When the car is running, even when in park, the gears are engaged.
