When to change SST transmission fluid?

According to the maintenance manual, even under severe maint. schedule, the SST transmission oil should be changed at 30K miles. But should I be changing earlier? If so, when and at how many miles?

Also, are there instructions on how to check and replace the transmission oil?

there are 3 bolts under the gearbox which you unscew to let out the oil and on top under the airbox there you check the oil level but you need to remove the airbox to see where it is.
the owners manual says to change every 30,000miles under severe usage and for normal use at 60,000 miles iam gonna change it at 30,000miles also it says to ckeck for leaks on the tranny and if you have them you need to check the oil level.

has anybody in here done this?

yes .. and you can't check the level of the fluid from the top nut ..

You practically have to measure how much you drain out and then put back in the same amount ..

You'll see the 3 hex bolts underneath .. the closest to the front drains about 5 quarts of oil .. and the other 2 drains about 1.5quarts each ..

.. I didn't change mine .. I changed a friend's

That was done around 20k miles .. if you track often .. change the filter too .. that filter medium is a piece of crap .. and at $130 a filter .. and expensive crap ..

Mine had an oil analysis done at 15k miles and was told everything good .. and continue to use the oil until 30k miles ..then do another test .. I had 2 track days when the oil was tested ..
