MR problem somethings not right i think..

Alright well first of yeas i have tried doin a search on this problem n i havent really seen to much about this issue my buddies evo 10 mr is having...

is there any know issue with the sst trans, my friends evo seems to be having really bad downshift issues.. and he now has 9k miles on his car.

when coming to a stop the car will downshift and then gets extremely jumpy, perfect way to expain the jump is if any of you know bout putting a vent to air bov and you drive on the freeway in top gear and when the boost drops off the car will jump/ jolt... its pretty loud n hard, n doesnt sound good.. if anyone can fill me in on this it would be appreciated.. it also seems to be getting worse..

His MAF sensor is going out. Tell him to take it to the dealer and get them to pull the code. It will show up and they'll fix it under warranty.

Well obviously I'm just guessing as I don't have the car in front of me, and I didn't see anything about codes being thrown. But that's where I am putting my money with the details given!

mine clunks when i take off after a stop, if i give it a moment to downshift it doesn't do it. I expect to use the warranty after a while as I beat it harder.

He's got a CAI w/o a tune? Any other mods?

Not saying this is yoru friends problem but it's been said time and time again modding your car with an intake without a tune will cause it to lean out, which may seem fine as the car runs very rich. However, this will also cause the engine to heat up, because the normally "extra" fuel that doesn't burn acts as a coolant. Therefore it's important to monitor your temps and GET A TUNE!

If you can consistently recreate I would take off the intake and see if it changes anything. If it doesn't then you're back to stock and you take it to the dealer.

Read my thread. It's probably the MAF. Another TC-SST likely shot
