Not too sure. I don't think the paperwork said how much it was, but I'll have to look closer when I get home.

Leaving work here in a few minutes to go pick up the car, so we'll see how it goes.

You have to be more specific in your question. If you were to ask if your dealers MUT III could see a count, then the answer would be no.
Would you happen to know if the number of Cobb AP flashes are detectable (using MUT III or any tool for that matter) after you "unmarry" it with the car? or is that just a load of crap Cobb feeds us that it returns the ecu to 100% stock?

With what we use, yes. But I wouldn't think there would be that many people that would have exposure with what we use.

With a 'normal' MUT III, I doubt it very much but I haven't looked with any of our MUT's here to answer your question with 100% conviction. Cobb isn’t a big player where I am located and I haven't had enough exposure with what they do to be of any real assistance to you. Sorry.

Well, I drove the hell out of it yesterday, and the car seems happy. So, I guess we'll see how it goes...

No the MUTIII cannot read the number of 'burns' done on the ECU .. it reads the serials on the rom though .. so if you want to be sure (I bet everyone does that) keep the original rom image safe

Kijima knows best

Your car has been flashed, and it is clipping the overboost code, happens to MR's when the tq maps are jacked up. A dealer will never be able to diagnose it, Listen to Gunzo.

Usually P1235 doesn't happen when you drive the hell out of it

Its a mismatch .. you get higher chance of triggering when you're feathering the car ..

Also .. P1235 is NOT an overboost code ..
its a 'by the way' code .. ie .. Oops you overboosted DING .. oh by the way your airflow doesn't match my tables so DING P1235 lol:

Error Correction more to the point.

Each time it happened, I was driving hard, and in the middle of accelerating full throttle. Never happened when feathering.

Definitely not flashed. Now that I've got the new ECU in there, I feel zero difference in the ride. Also, if it had been tuned, it wouldn't smoke so much. Any boost makes it smoke like a diesel.

even easier .. you have a mild overboost then

the way you trigger it determines roughly where on the table s the problem ..
Most people with more mods than you usually have this issue at part throttle than anything else..

The engineers did a good job with setting the boost limit relatively high (ie 25psi) .. but they neglected the other aspects of the airflow limits

No problems yet, and I've been driving it a lot lately. Even got it out in our massive snow storm last week.

I spoke TOO SOON!

The very next day after my previous post, I made my way into the mountains for a 100 mile drive to go snowboarding. Weather was chilly, but not crazy. I was about 5 miles away from my destination when it happened again, right in the middle of me passing a truck. Again, full throttle. I took the car in again on Monday and they are working on it. I suggested they replace the aftermarket downpipe with a factory one, so we'll see what happens. Meanwhile I have contacted a lawyer about the problem and am going to try to make Mitsubishi buy back the car under the Colorado Lemon Law. The problem has been repaired 3 different times, and now is subject to repair for the 4th time. It's been out of service due to this problem for a total of 20 days. That's almost a month out of the 7 months I've owned it. SAD.

When I spoke with one of the sales managers, he suggested they trade me out into a brand new 08 Evo. I refused, saying that I wouldn't let another person take on the burden that I've had to deal with. I simply want my vehicle to not have any problems. It makes it look like I drive it like a teenager. Don't get me wrong... I DRIVE the car, but I don't beat the sh!t out of it. I also have truly not modified a single thing on the car since I bought it, except I replaced the radio antenna.

I'll let you know more when I have it...
