Moving from Florida to Missouri. What do I need to know?
#17
I posted this on Midewest Evos as well:
On a side note, my vehicle broke down just west of Tallahassee, FL. I'm not sure what the problem is just yet but its not looking good. I was goin about 80mph in 5th at about 3400 RPM and the car started to sputter. Got the car towed and pulled the plugs. Plug #4 had the top of the spark plug missing. Replaced that plug and I think the same thing happened. Now the car barely runs, motor makes a noise like there is some metal on metal contact and the exhaust smells like gas.
I don't think the timing belt went but you never know? Car is out of warranty by barely 2 months. Vehicle was towed to Pensacola Mitsubishi where they will tell me the damage on Monday most likely. I will report back and let you all know the status and would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
As for me, I rented a mini van, loaded all my crap and kept going. Made in town Sat. morning.
I'll keep yall updated.
Dealer's Findings:
The dealer said that the issue was a bad coil pack ?!?! The service rep explained that the coil pack caused the spark plug to get too hot and literally "blew off" the end of it. She said the technician was 100% sure that was the only problem. I'm not quite sure I buy that, but the parts will be in tomorrow and they will give it a try. I hope she's right, but I'm still skeptical.
Keep your fingers crossed for me and thanks for all of the greetings and suggestions!
