well I found a set of instructions that talks about setting up the xml file for the eclipse ecu to show the immobilizer codes. And a post talking about what to put into an evo ecu for deleting the immobilizer setting...I wonder if i combine the 2... I got the Eclipse ECU for $100 and I will try it...even though I will most probably end up destroying the ecu...lol

yes I tried to disable the imobilizer in the eclipse ecu , there is no code out there to do it , and I paid 200$ for my first evo ecu then I bought another one for my 2g and I ended up paying 340$ for got both of them off ebay...

Did you try to use the EvoScan to disable the Immobilizer on the Eclipse? I was reading their site but didn't see any information saying it could disable the immobilizer on the Eclipse ECU...But I have a feeling I will have some difficulty finding the Evo 8 ECU...But I feel confident I can get the Eclipse ECU for a steal...

    Hey bro,
Where did you get your Evo 8 ECU from? I want to get one. Did you locate it in a salvage yard or is there a supplier for them? Because $240 seems affordable, however if you got it from a salvage yard I might ba able to find one cheaper

well I recently had a similar expierience , my cable fried as soon as i plugged it into my ecu and while the cable is plugged in the car, the car wont start but as soon as i remove the cable the car started fine... if you were flashing your ecu and your computer dies while flashing and the ecu didnt get fully written chances are you have fubar'd your ecu... at least in the computer world if you fail while writing your cmos your motherboard needs to get replaced so its probably the same case with the car ecu's... lucky for you though i have an extra lancer es ecu i will part with, or you can spend the money and get you an evo8 ecu witch is why i have an extra lancer es ecu...

Ok so apparantly I messed up good. Ive been talking to senate for a bit now and I have all my cables and what not but I tried to get my base map on my computer and save it to an external hard drive and my computer blacked out and rebooted....now my ecu shows nothing and my car wont even start. Got any ideas? I have a 05 lancer OZ MT...hopefully I can figure something out cause having a car this new that wont even start sucks...lol and I was planning on throwing in my custom turbo setup in 3 weeks...
    Thanks
    Tyler
