  1. Oil leak
    Feb 6, 2019 12:01 PM
Hello there, I have been browsing the threads trying to find someone that has had a similar issue to what I am currently dealing with.
I came across your post on when your catch can lines froze up.
I was driving and it was extremely cold and I didn't give the car much time to warm up (Big mistake I know)
Got into boost maybe 8-10psi, heard a sound and started smoking like a train like ALOT of smoke. Smelling like burning oil and water mixture.
Babied the car home in the garage and ended up emptying the catch cans and decent amount of water came out so I figured that was the issue.
Got everything put back together, started it up and it seemed fine. Let it warm up for about 5 mins and reved the engine.
Not as much smoke but a decent amount and it still smelled like the oil water mixture burning.
Took a closer look and there looks to be oil leaking from the turbo and exhaust manifold gasket so I'm currently try to get the turbo off to take a look at it.
Any idea on what this might be?

Ok yea let me know. If you look at a stock exhaust manifold it has mounting points and 2 big bungs between the 2 outer cylinders

Sir. You got me all curious about the actual history of my manifold. I texted my buddy who I bought it off of, and he told me I got his PPI ported/coated exhaust manifold. Guess I got the wrong one, and never realized it. If it still catches your eye, I'll let you know if I want to sell it.
    Thanks!

I have been following this thread since it started. So far I'm ok. I used a borascope to look at my pistons. Nothing unusual
