I was reading your responce to a member with no gauge lights. You really know these Lancers.

After I intalled an Alpine 9887 head unit I have no dashlights.or heater/ac nob lights. I checked the fuses and had to replace the radio fuse. I rechecked all the fuses with a meter all checked out ok.

The dimmer switched was bypassed by the previous owner.

I disconnected the illumination wire. With a meter I rechecked all the fuses under the hood, under the dash, the tach and speedo bulbs. They all check out. Checked the radio wire harness for pinched wires. I reseated all dash light related connectors.

Since the car had the dimmer switch bypassed, maybe the orange blk stripe wire from the harness, was grounded. Orng/blk is dimmer neg. orange/blk wire is not connected.

I need to look at the schematic for the car side wiring harness to see if I should ground orange/blk.

Do you have any ideas?
