HI i noticed you on a lot of forums and you seemed pretty knowledgeable. i have a no crank issue with my oz rally, its 2005 manual. the accessories turn on except the air fuel ratio gauge but when i try to crank it there is no feedback whatsoever no fuel pump hum, no starter click, i replaced the starter and battery already, the oz rally sat since last november at my uncles house , he claims he fried the ecu when he was trying to hook up some speakers to it but im not sure. i took the ecu out and opened it and noticed one small spot on Q11 on the circuit board that looked a bit toast but couldnt really tell, i also realized when i took out the ecu the air fuel ratio gauge on my A pillar started lighting up and when i unplugged the ecu again it stopped working, with and without the ecu the dash lights still turn on. i was wondering if you had any opinions on this or could help give me any ideas, i was thinking ignition switch next

    Hey CrAnSwick,
Just watched your f5m42 trans tear down YouTube video. Awesome video by the way. If you were closer I would offer to be your camera guy. I have my trans torn apart now and I am getting ready to orders a rebuild kit so I can have a machine shop swap out the synchros for me. Do I need the bk497ws or the bk497aws rebuild kit?

    Thanks

Thanks CrAnSwick! I kinda thought that was it but the mechanic dont want to touch it when they said they dont find any issue as the car runs fine when we drive test it. So far car is running ok only that its a little louder at high speed.

Since you're the 04-06 Ralliart god I figured i'd ask you instead of creating another thread. Like many others my rear bushings are worn out and I was wondering what the best option would be to replace them. Do I replace the bushings themselves or just go ahead and replace the whole control arm, i've read doing the arms is a lot less of a pain in the ass then replacing the bushings. Advice? Appreciate your time brother!

Bought the Princess Auto 20 ton press, "special buy" for $295, had to go to the new Scarborough store to get it. Just assembled it. It's in the basement rec room, clean dry warm place, no room anywhere else. Guess I have to find/make tooling to press on the diff speedo gear and bearings; will try to do that in the school shop this week before March break. You are welcome to come work here anytime, I am setting up tables and making workspace. Would you be available sometime during March break (Saturday March 14 to Sunday March 22 ) to guide me through tranny disassembly? All my parts (seals mostly) are in, just waiting on the diff preload shims.

Also, I am ready to assemble and test a machine I invented to allow very easy and safe manipulation/installation of the tranny to the engine by one person. Fingers crossed - might be a disaster, or its a design to sell! More later...
