    If you have the technical skill and the patience to do it yourself, it very well could be. However, this means living with a non-functional car for months at a time. If you're going to pay to have it done in a timely manner (still a month or more), the cost balloons and at that point, I really wouldn't say it was worth it. The generally accepted cost is 10000$, I don't see a point in spending 10000$ to end up with a FWD, turbocharged frankenstein car that would be hard to sell, hard to insure and limited in further modifications.
