MaftPro with Reflash????
I was wondering would it be best to use a maft pro witha bone stock ecu or is it better to use it with a reflashed ecu? I am trying to decide if I should get a reflash. If I get a reflash then maftpro would I be anyfuther a head then just using maftpro?

It turned out great. With the HTA 35R, I got 444 on a dyno dynamic dyno.
Here are the sheets\thread.
HTA GT35R Dyno results right here!

The interesting thing is that the tuner would had rather had me have just a MAFT setup as a blow through with a GM MAF. They said it would had been easier to tune it, but that considered, things still turned out better than I had expected. Maybe speed density was still better. I don't know.
But I think you want to base you tunning desicsions based on who is doing the tunning, and what do they perfer. That's if you trust them.

wow nice run, I had to dig trough the pages but for your mods you look to be getting REAL good power across the board, on pump gas none the less.
I was also reading how they tuned it but there was not much detail. So did they use the MAFT pro as the base tuner and then flash on top of that?
Thats what I got from reading the other post. So if that is the case what changes were made with the flash? Did you leave on the Auto AF correction? What does your MAFT settings look like?
Do you have any logs from the dyno runs?
Sorry for all the questions
Thanks!

Well as funny/strange as it is, I've been having so much fun to look at my MAFT settings. Basically it seems that the tuners would run the car. Talk about what it's doing based of the dyno readings. Fix some issues with ECU flash, then norrow in with the MAFT Pro. AFR tracking is off. ECU flash is being massaged by MAFT Pro. Or rather ECU Flash is making right what MAFT Pro may not be able to. I think. There are alot of things ECU flash can do that MAFT can't. This combo seems to be a great alternative to AEM EMS at my state of mods\power levels.

Hey Chris,
Sorry I was hating on the maftpro so much
So to answer what we did, I did all the fuel tuning with the maftpro and all the timing work with ecuflash.
The reason I was not happy with your setup is this, you came in with 1000cc fic's with the injectors at stock scale in the ecu and the maftpro at +10 you were still running 17:1 under light load.
The first pull we made at low boost you were only hitting 160 load on an ecu that scaled load up to 260 on the stock map. Stock evo's will hit between 220-240 load. What this means is you were running WAY too much timing and throwing knock counts all over the place.
At the end of the day we had to tell the maftpro to add about +20 - +30 fueling to get the afr's in the ball part for pump gas. There is no way this should be the case for 1000cc injectors with stock scaling in th ecu. After talking with Thomas, I'm sure everything was configured properly and even he though we should have been able to zero out the maftpro and scale the injectors in ecuflash.
I cannot say why the load read so low on your car, could have been the firmware update, I don't know. The map sensor was reading fine at idle and through the boost range so I have no way to explain why the translated load was so low.
At the end of the day, we came up with a good tune, it just took a lot longer than I feel it should have. I'm comfortable working with the maftpro, I just don't prefer it. For my money, I would go with a regular maf translator and a gm maf senor in blow through mode, costs about half of what the mftpro does. They work great, they don't jack around with the load, you can set them up for pass through mode and do all the tuning in the ecu.
On the plus side, We have plenty of room left on the map for when we turn up the boost and start spraying the meth.

Bringing this one back
Well after some weekend warrior tuning and the info from the other post. I think I may have found myself in a similar foothold as LT1runner was.
I just posted a log here: Pimp my log
I was just looking at the same log and noticed my load is low 200's, I pulled some older logs and my load was in the 260's early in the rpm band?
So what did you guys do to bring the load back up on LT1's evo as I think you said his load number were way down when you first started tuning it?

I currently have scaled FIC750's and the MAFTPro set at +10. I am taking a little fuel out at idle and through cruise, but since I havent put my new WB in I havent really gotten crazy yet. I can tell you though that my load is within 3-5% of where it should be for my setup on S1s. I am on Ss now so I am actually probably in the neighborhood of 20-25% off from where it would be if it were stock air meter (i.e. it should be reading 325-330 and its reading 300-310)
