I do a lot of very tight mountain driving. I need smooth throttle control and right now my off-throttle surge is pretty bad. I'm running a Turbo XS UTEC and stock MAF, recirculating Forge BOV. I'm thinking of ditching the UTEC and going the Maftpro route.
Looking at the MAF Translator lineup, which would be the simplest solution to eliminate this surge:
- MAFT PRO seems to be a guaranteed solution with MAF elimination, but it's expensive and according to TTP's website, requires a lot of accessories to function, which are also expensive. Plus it sounds a bit complicated to tune.
MAF Translator GenII sounds awesome with it's ability to self-adjust the fuel mixture based on the A/F ratio, but does it eliminate the MAF?
Vehicle Specific looks attractive for the simplicity and low price, but even if I run the GM MAF, will it eliminate this off-throttle surge?
Or would any of these solve my surge problem, and I'm over-analyzing all this?
