ETA on timing control

Is there any timeframe for the timing control to come out? Not that I need it right now since i am still fine tuning.

What else is being worked on? C'mon Bob fill us in.

So far the unit is running great, my tip in problem is non-existant, but I still have a small lean problem when pushing in the clutch. Im pretty sure I know what the problem is, I think the tps decay is set just a little too high, or my low throttle is too low.

Too bad the bad weather is starting to set in.

Yeah it is snowing here right now

Just out of curiousity... why did you toss the UTEC before you could control timing with the MAFT Pro?

In my case, I have both units... I use the MAFT Pro to simply make it speed density... i may use some of its autotrack AFR provisions but even if I do it will most likely be just for the Alchy Injection (Which I will then use the UTEC to copy whatever percentages the MAFT sets). Im just curious why you didnt like the UTEC I suppose.

Awww, I hate snow. It should be here in about an hour then.

It's not that I didn't like the UTEC it's just having 2 systems to do the smae exact things is a little redundant. Plus to change settings, I won't have to fire up the laptop. I have the XD-1 gauge so I can change things on the fly. I did the same things by setting my maps up in excel and printing them out then going back and looking at all my logs and try to average everything out by PSI, and RPM then go back to the maft and enter in all of the "values" Made life a lot easier to get a good base tune and then do all of the small fine tuning after all that.

Also I don't need huge timing at this time anyways because of the road conditions and the weather change. Tuning came to a grinding halt in the last 2 days.

still sunny here anyone ever use MSD DIS-2 to raise timing by 1 or 2 degrees when alky turns on? Two inputs on the unit allows me retard/advance timing when it gets a 12v signal.

I haven;t used this yet. Still trying to decide on which set-up to go with. Buschur's COP set-up has raised my attention.

I would bump timing more than that. Maybe use it as a starting point.

Timing control is being designed, at the same time I am trying to get the next version out the door (right Scott?). This next version will have some more refinement of the response programming, more flexibility in the Aux functions for fuel and boost control.

I would anticipate beta testing the timing control within a month and final release within a month after that.

Yup, our advised refinements have been taken into account and will be used to improve the product. It gets better and better everyday.

Ok, but from you post it just looked like you were going to be releasing an updated version with the timing control. Sorta like with the MAF translator your first one was replaced with one with updated programming. I had that on my 2g turbo dsm and loved it!!! I can't wait to get the MAFT PRO for my Evo

Yes, still in the works. Factory ECU timing works great to 400+whp. I have logged timing and there is not a lot I would try to change on the shopcar at this time regarding timing.

Timing is the easiest way to pop a motor, but it is a nice feature for those who know how to use it.

The first unit I had, had a problem and was replaced on request, as any of my customers units would be in a situation like that. The updated firmwares are available from me as they are released for my customers.
