Thought and Opinions on a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 4X4
I am still debating on letting go of the toy and settling into one car.
I found an amazing deal on a:
2007 Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4, extended cab, short bed
5.3L V8 or 5.4 whatever it is
Anyone have any comments on this truck, the good, bad, ugly?
How is the maintenance on it? I am looking for something that won't be a maintenance ***** like the EVO is.
Thanks for all the help!!!

i love pickup trucks…
my first vehicle was a pickup and i loved every second of it…errraa…every second other than the gas mileage.
basically, you’ll love it because it’s a go anywhere, do anything vehicle…and V8 trucks are usually built pretty tough, especially the new ones, so you shouldn’t have many problems with it…
if you are okay with the transition from a maintenance ***** to a gas *****, then I say go for it.
after i’m done with my lancer, i’ll defiantly be going to a 4x4 pickup…no question about it.
what colour is the one you’re looking at?

Chevy trucks suck. Have one so its mot like I dont have one. Just one thing goes wrong after another. But hey the motors are strong, its just their interior is 4 out of a 10 in quality.
My next ruck will either be a Nissan or a Ford.

I drove my Dad's new Silverado he has the MAX deal. 1500 with the 6.0.
I took it to delivery my Camaro on a 1500 mile round trip. Towed perfect, dropped the u haul trailer where I dropped the car. Came back empty. I was comfortable the whole time. I truly enjoyed it.
Personally I would not want to drive my Evo daily. I have a Jeep GCL I use daily.
As well he has owned about five different Chevy trucks in the last seven years.
No problems for him, then again I am not thinking he has had one for more then 30k miles.
I would say go for it. The new silverado's are really nice IMO.
I have heard really good things on the new Tundra as well.

I say keep the Evo, replace the GF with the truck
Seriously though, we have a 2500 at work, beat on it constantly, has lots of weight in tools in 3 big metal boxes, and tows a 35' boat, dump trailers, etc. Aside from tearing off the tailgate a couple times and having to get the seats re-stuffed, it has held up well. My neighbor I ride MX with has a new one with the fancy interior option, he loves it. I would say the fancy interior may be a little fragile in a real work truck, but as just a DD it is pretty sweet.

Rear drum brakes aren't really bad for trucks. Disk brakes can get rocks and stuff wedged in them.

Thanks Guys. This wouldn't be a work truck. Mainly just a DD. If I put an ATV in the back, and maybe some supplies from Home Depot for the Condo then that would be really all it would be used for. But if I got it I would want to get 150,000 miles out of it. That is still a question to be determined.
