Lancer ES Won't turn on. Need help!! Please :)
Hello Everyone,
I have a 2002 Lancer ES. When I was driving it overheated and shutoff. Right now I'm working on getting it back in working order since it will not turn on. Here is the list of what I have already checked and done.
I checked the oil to see if was "milky" in case the head gasket blew...the oil was fine.
2. the plugs and wires are new and they are all giving spark (checked each one of them)
3. Checked my fuel pump, there is no power running to it but I rigged it up to get power and it's working.
4. Checked all my fuses, they are fine
5. The timing belt is in working order.
6. I used starting fluid to get the car on but that did not work
I'm not sure what else to check. If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas on what to check to get it started I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance

I'm not sure why, it hadn't had that problem before. It's winter here now so it's very cold. Only thing I'm wondering is if I had enough coolant in it

Yep, new plugs and wires. Even replace the valve gasket and rings because there was some oil in the spark plug wells. I filled the coolant but nothing. I get a crank but it doesn't turn over

Update!
Check the compressions today:
1: 40 lbs
2. 5lbs
3. 30lbs
4. 85lbs
So bad lol.
Water pump was fine and there was coolant coming out the wells when I was checking the compressions. I'm pretty sure my head gasket is done. Any other conclusions anyone would like to make?

with compression that bad I would take the head to the shop and have it inspected (could be as cheap as $40)... if all is good get new head gasket, NEW HEADBOLTS, and reinstall
if you have never done a head job and know nothing about timing, make sure you do research. Try to set the timing to where it should be (I use a 22mm socket to turn it from the crank pulley bolt) BEFORE you take it apart so when you go to put it back together its a one step process.
You can start here: www.car-part.com
Replacing the entire motor will require a few extra tools than the head (which can be lifted off by one person with intake intact), more than likely a cherry picker will be needed, and something to support the transmission while the motor is out
