02 Lancer es heater hose leak
I haven't found anything definitive on here to help me all the way yet, so I'll just ask you guys since I have time to waste while waiting for the hoses to arrive.
I was stuck in traffic when I noticed my hood to start smoking (vapor) so I pulled off the freeway and popped the hood and sure enough something was leaking. At the time I couldn't figure it out because it was dark and oil was everywhere. I could see that oil and water had mixed and was dripping on everything, thus the smoke. I let it cool off and checked my fluid levels. Oil was dry so I added to prepare for the drive home. It only drove for 10 minutes before it stalled out on me. I had it towed home and finally got to look at it today. It started so I checked for leaks and with the mess of oil I'm thinking the seals are crap. I also noticed while it was running that there was a hissing coming from the heater hose and sure enough water was dripping out.
So that's my step one, replace heater hoses. I need to know what else I should check before having to take it in. I'm not going to drive it until I replace the hoses, but I don't think that's what stalled it out.
--possible issues: gasket, spark plugs, water pump (timing belt was changed a year or two back).
*Current issues: AC hose is clogged. Passenger floor was soaked last week.
Valve tap
Any thoughts on this? It's out of my territory on things I've had to replace/fix/troubleshoot before.
